Based on the provided pictures, bar looks ok, dining room looks like an office building. Willl head over to check it out at some point though

Who ever ate anything at Trout anyway? It was just a great semi-outdoor drinking establishment. Very sad to it go.

Maybe they can put an elementary or high school on every other floor of the prison tower to kill two birds with one stone...could cut down on construction costs as well!

Remsen wrote a review about Joya and Song on October 27, 2008 1:15 PM

Joya is a casual Thai restaurant with good, cheap food. Although there is a sometimes a DJ playing, it is not a club...Bocco Lupo also has a DJ for that matter. Alternatively, it could become one of those quiet, lame Asian restaurants on Montague...there is a niche for all.

Good analysis...though do not think those rooms are triples, or at least not all of them...there may even be some single...no idea, never joined the cult to gain access.

A hotel would be great, including a roofdeck bar and restaurant on the groundfloor. Better option than staying across from the HoD. Tough mkt though.

Remsen wrote a review about Luz on October 23, 2008 12:34 PM

I have been to Luz several times and always leave saying I should come back more often. Both the food and drinks are great, as well as the actual design of the restaurant. Great use of the space with the banquet seating as well as lighting....an element often overlooked. Bartenders are very friendly as well. Luz-II????

Both cities also have wild flocks of parrots, ..so we both have that going for us as well.

Stopped in the place last weekend for the first time for dessert...great chocolate cake! Place was packed, very nice ambience. Now on my list of places to go for dinner sometime soon.

Have walked past Char a few times and has been pretty crowded, so it must have something going for it besides a great decor.

Montague St landlords could not find their a** with both hands

Simple supply and demand will dictate whether he succeeds. Since this area of the Heights is underserved at best, he probably will do ok. Would I prefer to have a rent paying brick & motar establishment with fresh fruit and vegs? Of course, but since none exist....

I think they realize they missed the boat once Ragegast Beer Hall opened up...They need two locations, one to brew an one to market...as for the marketing location, Dumbo would make sense...Galapagos already made the move, just need some discounted rent
