Looking for a rental in December!

Hey Browstone owners
We're a young couple looking for a garden level apt with a backyard in Bushwick or Bed-Stuy. We are respectable young folks hoping to get a nice garden started in our new backyard, so the rougher the better.

If there's anyone that could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Handyman looking for a garden apartment to rent/renovate!

Hey Brownstoners.
I'm looking for a place in BK to rent, preferably something that has not yet been totally renovated.

Tired of the 'totally renovated' Craigslist look. Anyone have a garden apartment that needs some work, but also needs a tenant/

Hoping to move in November or December.

Thanks!

Yes, I have references I could give you. I know all the contractors out there think that there is no possible way that a person can do more than one trade worthwhile, but I can do sheet rock, carpentry, flooring, some plumbing and electrical, and I would love to have a chance to fix up a nice garden-level apartment that needs some work.

Yes, I would say my work would definitely be worth rent. I'm sure something could be worked out that would benefit everyone.

I do great quality painting, along with wall repairs, etc. I'm based in Bushwick, but work all over Brooklyn and Manhattan.

OwenCarew@gmail.com if you're interested. Can supply references if needed also.

Talk soon

I'm a quality carpenter. If you're still in the market for one, drop me a line.

Actually, it's a completely legitimate inquiry of people here.

Not all homeowners in Brooklyn are wealthy yuppies. Some may be elderly people who have owned a house all their lives, are going to sell it in a few years, and would gladly welcome a handyman in the house to help them improve the rental apartment and house, so they can do better when they sell it. So you know, try thinking about other people than just your own specific situation once in a while.

Or, that might have been an out-of-work contractor posting here angrily, as usual. This board is crawling with these guys. Dudes, listen, when it gets harder for people to get mortgages and the market becomes uncertain, yes, homeowners will not be throwing around as much money on renovations. It's a normal economic cycle. Deal with it.

Why would a landlord want to rent you an apartment and allow you to renovate it? Your idea makes no sense at all.

Do you have references? Also do you mean handyman on someone who can renovate the place while you live there. New sheet rock, new kitchen, new floor, new plumbing, etc.

How long you will be looking to stay? Will your work be worth the rent?

I would use Muhammed, he is excellent, has great crew, extremely reasonable and nice. His number is 917-855-5459. Say Emilia recommended

Aww, sweet dogs. How could any landlord deny those faces and those big pleading eyes?

No way I could forget those doggy faces.
