Beast is a great bar. Very friendly waitstaff, great winelist, and a spectacular late-night happy hour.
I'm kind of thinking the number of bars might be going up too many too soon, actually. Once AY is done there should be some demand. But Beast just went in a couple of years ago; a new place, Barrett, went in this week at the corner of Bergen and Vandie; and there's talk of the wine bar Half reopening under some new name on Vandie near St. Mark's.
