Venting a Dryer / Washer and Dryer Combos
Hello
We are in a row house and the dryer has never been vented properly. I've got two questions:
1) What kind of person would we call to vent our dryer properly? A gas dryer. This means boring a hole in the wall to the outside. A plumber? I have no idea. How much would this cost?
2) Does anyone have experience with the ventless washer/dryer combos? What kind do you have and what has your experience been?
Thank you.

Bedford Ave / Development?
Rumors are swirling around our block and neighborhood regarding the sale/purchase of properties on either side of Bedford Avenue between Putnam and Jefferson Aves. Wondering if anyone has heard anything? One rumor is that Pratt has bought the bldg on the NE corder of Bedford/Jefferson.

There is a fairly big and quite reasonable rug warehouse/store on Atlantic Ave and about Bond. Sorry I do not have the correct name. We got a sisal rug there a few years ago.

My previous co-op was a small co-op and the 'pitch' of the sewer pipe was not adequate (these are lay terms, I know).
Our board set up a protocol for the pipe to be cleaned out every quarter or at least two times per year. As I recall, it wasn't that expensive.

Thanks to the guest who gave me the link to the Brooklyn Eagle. Very helpful.

All of this bickering aside, I'd like to know if anyone on Brownstoner has any information about Bedford between Putnam and Jefferson Avenues? Rumors swirling around here about sales to Hasidic people and then also to Pratt and I'm just curious.
Thanks

unless there is a sugar and cookie shortage, i don't think this qualifies as "gouging".
just taking advantage of price insensitive and lazy shoppers.

Are you trying to emulate the europeans?
They use sugar cubes all the time.

convienence store...you pay for that, and overhead is different from store to store.
geez, I should start reporting the price swing between doctors, surgeons and attorneys, believe me its much greater then the pennies many worry about here.

That is a huge price difference. But some people never look at the price. That's why these stores can get away with it.

The sugar cubes are $49.99 at Green Grape Provisions.

Perhaps they were artisanal, free-range, dolphin-safe sugar cubes, harvested organically by paraplegic lesbians of color.

Fresh Gardens people are the same people who own the Greene Farm or whatever it is called right next to the C entrance and the regular bodega.
They have always had high prices. I remember that when I was pregnant, I was addicted to Swiss yogurt and Greene Farm's prices were 20 percent higher than Garden of Eden - which is saying a lot since Garden of Eden is alway very high.
I think both of those stores have horrible customer service and I avoid both like the plague.
