OMG Vidler's! My parents used to take me there often as a child.

And beef on weck...mmmm....with REAL horseradish.

I'm FROM Buffalo, and I was just there for a visit last weekend. I actually met with Newell, who showed me some amazing instances of civic action and enthusiasm and preservation. Indeed, there are some lovely downtown neighborhoods and houses -- many remind me of the interesting mansions of Clinton Hill.

However, the article didn't mention the disastrous East Side at all. Urban prairie, condemned homes, high crime. It's like two different worlds between Elmwood Village and the East Side.

Plus, the 'burbs are sprawling.

For a different look at Buffalo, I suggest www.fixbuffalo.blogspot.com.

Atlantic before Fulton... veeeeery interesting. With some traffic calming and fixing up the median, could happen.

What kind of shadiness goes on at MoG?

Wacky- my friend is renting in this house right now! I've only been in the garden/parlor duplex, but it's pretty nice.

The street's not 100% great, but it has potential. Asking does seem a little high, being that I hear there's a lot of drug dealing right across the street.

Wasn't there a house next door to this place listed on Craigslist about a year ago for half the price?

There is not enough space here to compile all of the complaints on Adelphi Station. Like that time I received a package slip a MONTH after a package arrived me for me at the PO, and they had, of course, sent it back because it was unclaimed for a month. Guess I didn't receive that telepathic message they sent initially.

The Azure is in such a weird locale for the time being - all of those blocks north of Myrtle are still so shabby, but are all being developed.

What do we have to do to bring a damn HSBC to the neighborhood?

If this place offered reasonable sandwiches to go, that'd be cool. Kind of like Choice but with a more efficient layout inside.

I guess Santa doesn't like DC!

Fantastic! Might be a good spot for local artists to sell their wares as well.

I'm not sure I like the idea of having housing on top of the library, but the facilities themselves are in need of some serious upgrade. It's great to have a library so close -- I often "order" books online to be sent there. I hope the reno brings cleaner, brighter facilities and a bigger selection.

I have to say, at the end of the seller's listing it DOES say: PRESENT ANY OFFER! Ha.

And those doors? WTF indeed.

Man, you're my hero for getting inside.

Rentals? Really?! Wonder how much they'll be...

$360k?! Jeez.

This place is slated for the Haunted House series.

Bergen Bagel is always friggen' packed. With this plan, we will at least be able to bring our bagel and coffee outside. I think overall MARP is doing an awesome job.

I know someone in the running for one of the houses -- she definitely had no inside connection.

I love this area - so much potential for cool stuff. Though plagued by a lack of subway access. What's the closest train here? G at Clinton-Washington?

And why can't the Navy Yard integrate more into the 'hood?

When I moved to Clinton Hill, brokers were still calling it Fort Greene. But Nostrand? Come on.
