Structural Engineer

I am in search of a structural engineer to do for planning a load capacity for a roof deck on a brownstone, any recommendations?

Roof Deck

For those of you who have done roof decks on your brownstones or townhomes, what was the suggested maximum weight to be used on the roof. I know that I will need an architect, but before I make that investment I was just wondering of if there is an approximate/suggested limit.

I just used a curapay tile from the decking outlet (1888)848-4537 Ana. They were easy to install and well contructed. They looked beautiful, however I'm noticing they're beginning to fade, it was recommended to treat them with uv protected oil/finish since they're in direct sunlight on the roof. I'll see how they age and update.

Overall, it was a easy beautiful job.

I'm actually trying for a temporary deck for this season to utilize my this space until I can get the plans & budget to complete the job according to code. The building is 18 ft wide and i'm only utilizing approximately 185 sq ft. It's a new roof, my question is can the roof sustain the weight of decking tiles (approx 200sf), lounge chairs, umbrella and a few planters a few people over the summer. Any advice?

I don't have advice, but I'm on same boat as you are. Some contractors insist a permit is needed, while others say since it's not permanently attached, a permit isn't needed. Safety is main concern as well as weight limits. So I'll be watching this thread for updates.
