Building Lobby Renovation

Can someone please recommend a licensed contractor with textured painting experience or a licensed professional painter to redo a lobby in a building located in Kensington? The scope of work would involve removing ugly wall paper, some plastering, coating and repainting with textured paint. No floor work is needed.

Feel free to recommend yourself but please have a portfolio and references of your work as well as references of where I can see the scope of your work.

Thank you very much.

NHS Home Improvement Classes

Has anyone taken home improvement classes with NHS?
Was it worth it?
Overall, did you find them useful?

MM, do you know the beating I would get from sis if she found out I offended you? You would see me limping in Bell House in a couple of weeks.

bxgrl, saw the Benetton thread. Don't know much about Hasidim obsession with Benetton or the location and community it's in but I do bet they do their market research. I bought some stuff from them before and always see a bunch of colorful clothing but also quiet a bit of black and white. Their clothes are on the expensive side and have huge profit margins so adding cheap rent to it, I can see how they can make hefty profits just catering to one insular community in the neighborhood.

LOL BD.

MM, I was actually calling you "new" as per the conversation and left out the "old" lol. Hello! sis and I are like totally in your fan club!!!!

Yey, I got a smart "american" quote for my dumb "immigrant" quote. I say I got a steal.

Going ova to Benetton thread now then off to home. tootles.

We won't all agree with each other on everything discussed on this board. Seemingly ideological allies will always part ways at some point and new common ground will be found every day with every issue.

oooooo, I like how that sounds. Trade you this quote for my "suck on the doorknob" quote. Deal???

LOL Biff. Finally you reappear from DeathStar to reign over your PLUSA post.

Bxgrl also likes new and old hence her friendship with MM and ...... oh, nevermind.

I love both old and new, if done right. Wait till I actually post pics of my remodel lol. It's all modern now and I replaced those ugly 50's pink and black tiles in the bathroom. You'll ALL go to town on my place lol. I am waiting for a slow day to post those. I think it'll get about 1,000 hits in the OT that day. There is A LOT to make fun of and funny thing, I wouldn't even mind.

11217, how the heck are you? coming out to Bell House on December 3rd? DH and Cgar should be there. I will be pimping both of them out :o).

Hmmm, stevieb, looks like The What haven't really saved you from the financial ruins like you claim. Otherwise, you wouldn't be eating in Taco Bell. How did you expect to put a downpayment and buy a place then? do tell us.

Suddenly you're not attacking me anymore? All jokes aside, you should really go see a professional and work out your issues.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 20, 2009 11:37 AM in response to Open Thread

Dave, Beoch went there after DH's recommendations and loved it. You should ask her for the review.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 20, 2009 11:25 AM in response to Open Thread

blowfish, it's fairly new. Been getting very good review all over and the prices are very reasonable. Worth a trip I am guessing. I personally never went but I have a feeling it'll be delish.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 20, 2009 11:20 AM in response to Open Thread

LOL Dave. Well the chef is half Filipino and half Thai so immigrants are probably welcome. Same guy owns Kuma Inn in the city.

Don't worry about the homeless. You can just kick 'em on the way there as StevieB likes to think that's the way I do it.

DH, I also saw this week review of Travertine in Time Out NY.

http://newyork.timeout.com/articles/restaurants-bars/80621/travertine-nolita-restaurant-review

The chef there is Manuel Trevino from Top Chef Season 4. Seems like an awesome menu. I want to check it out.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 20, 2009 10:57 AM in response to Open Thread

I am glad you caught that one ENY :o). I was beginning to worry that it was too early in the morning and my Immigrant ways are not catching on to anyone.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 20, 2009 10:55 AM in response to Open Thread

Dave, that's awesome news! Now you don't even need to walk far to get good grub. Also, I think you should check out that Umi Nom place eventhough it's on the other side of Bed Stuy. It's been getting very good reviews.

Dumbass, I am not even talking to you. Haven't your mom taught you to keep your mouth shut when adults are talking? You are so trying to fit in and be accepted its almost hilarious. Someone didn't love you as a child and that apparent. You must have ordered another Macchiato if you're still typing away. I am stopping now cause I really don't feel like being banned.

Slope, I'll probably have some more of my “fun” co-op story for you next time as well LOL. Apparently we just heard that the estate wants to settle and get rid of the apt. as soon as possible. I don't believe it until I see that in writing.

Thanks Dave for the kind words. You won't convince him otherwise. I just emailed Mr. B and told him to pull my comments, if he wishes, because we totally destroyed this poor thread and could have just kept this non sense in the OT :o).

I know you like those beautiful Victorians and ranches they have all over Bucks Country but I have no patience to restore one of those and this would be a rental property and not for me to live in. Someday I might pick up something in Philly as I love Bucks County area.

Dave, we'll talk next time about West Philly. I'm talking about much much smaller scale than you're thinking.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 3:13 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

oh no Mopar, what happened now? Did the floors mess get straightened out? Sorry :o(.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 3:09 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

ha ha Dumbass, you crack me up. Turning what I said to YOU into completely different story. You are a loser to tenth degree. Nut case is an understatement in your case.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 3:08 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

dumbass, I have nothing to prove to you LOL. Call it anything you like.

Call immigration all you want, I am a citizen and have just as many right as you do ha ha ha.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 3:05 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

The ones in Bucks County are plain old townhouses in communities within good school district (Counsel Rock). So I am talking Newtown, Richboro, Holland area. Love that area and half of my family is from there (some still live there).

In terms of West Philly, we'll have to discuss. I am talking about buying, rehabbing and strictly holding and renting out. This wouldn't be a flip job or as an investment to live in.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 3:01 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

ha ha Dumbass. Like I said, you know nothing about me. Maybe if you investigate me some more, you'll learn that I organize charities and non for-profit events for less fortunate all over the world but figures why you couldn't even supplement your income as an investigator. Should I be calling Starbucks now to disconnect your internet connection? Better hurry up and go order another Chai Latte.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 2:54 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

Dave, I am looking at houses in Bucks County next weekend. Cousin wants to buy a couple as sales in good districts are lookin really juicy now. I have to talk to you about West Philly when I see you next. A really good idea presented itself and I want to run it by you.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 2:49 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

LOL, I am making fun of you dumbass, not homeless in general. You know NOTHING about me so go play in traffic or something. Oh wait, isn't your 1 hour login time in Starbucks about to expire?

Making fun of immigrants is not nice either but you do it. There is nothing wrong with coming to this country and making something of ones self.

You are the most obnoxious, ignorant, dumbass moron of a living creature I ever had a conversation with and trust me, I've met plenty. You seem to take it to another level. Congrats on that.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 2:43 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

Do you actually think I care about my grammar on some blog? I am working while looking at this so I could care less how it comes out. I don't proof read. This is just for entertainment unlike your preaching moronic ways.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 2:35 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

ROTFL dumbass, Go write something or you'll end up homeless again. ha ha ha.

Posted by: Kensingtonian at November 19, 2009 2:34 PM in response to 150 Bond Finally Sells—For a Loss

Dumbass, English is not my first language and I still have better reading comprehension than you lol. Loser, why don't you go and "investigate" me some more. If you read this blog long enough, you would have known exactly where I am from and how long I am in this country.
