Recommending Construction/Renovators

I just completed a project with EuroStar Renovation and so please with the job they have done for my husband & I that I wanted to share it with the forum.

We've had other contractors work for us in the past and have always had issues. Eurostar gave us the most personalized attention we've ever had. They went to with us to all the stores to help us purchase the best quality materials at the best price. There estimates were itemized and completely reasonable. They provided design ideas and all of the work was finished on time. They are fully licensed w/permit, which was important for us. They completed a very complex renovation in a timely matter and, to top it all off, this husband & wife team were a pleasure to work with.

Please take my word for it and give them a call (718) 846-1039. They will provide you with more referrals and before & after photos. After working with so many contractors, I am confident in recommending them as the best!

Documentary Film "Can You Hear Me?

Can You Hear Me? Israeli and Palestinian Women Fight for Peace

A documentary screening with the filmmaker Lilly Rivlin will be presented on Sunday, March 9, 2pm at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture 53 Prospect Park West at 2nd St.

Find out more: Read or hear a podcast interview of the filmmaker, Lilly Rivlin, by going to hipslopemama.blogspot.com

“The film revolves around the relationship between Leah Shakdiel, an Orthodox Jew, and Palestinian Maha Abu Dayyeh, activists who are convinced that women's efforts can lead the way to peace, and who are committed to dialogue, despite its difficulties. Leah Shakdiel emerges as the center of the film. Her passionate commitment to mobilizing women on both sides of he divide breaks the stereotype of Orthodox women. Her powerful presence, highlighted by a straightforward, unassuming style, makes for a compelling film.” -- BARBARA EPSTEIN, UC, SANTA BARBARA
“This is a film for all those who want peace in the world and who believe that peace is possible. I viewed this film with two Pakistani rural women. They had no idea that Palestinian and Israeli women actually met. As they saw the humanity of women striving for peace together, it brought them to tears.”--SAMEENA NAZIR, FOUNDER OF RURAL WOMEN UNITED

Eurostar Renovation (718-846-1039) helped me on a similiar renovation project. I've worked with other contractors and they are the best. They are fully licenced with permit and they are always timely.

Their estimates are very competitive and they do great work. I was very pleased. Call them and ask for more testimonials and before & after pictures.

Good luck,
Melissa

I'm not sure if you are looking for a fully licenced and insured contractor as well. If so, I used EuroStar renovation to work on a gut renovation and they did a phenomenal job. Their # is 718-846-1039.

Hi,

I absolutley loved EuroStar Renovation. They are a fully licensed/insured husband and wife team that gave us very personalized client service. Unlike any other contractors my husband & I have worked with, they provided advice and attention to detail every step of the way. The estimates were very reasonable.

The number is 718-846-1039

They can provide you with great testimonials and impressive before and after photos of prior work.

You may want to contact EuroStar Renovations at 718-846-1039. They do a lot of great work in the neighborhood and their quotes are decent. You would probably need to go into a bit more detail with them by phone. They helped my husband & I with a similiar project.

That is going to depend on a couple factors. First, are you going to use the foundation the current extension sits on? A structural engineer will probably have to evaluate. If you build a new foundation that means a big dig. A big dig usually effects the neighbors and it becomes a headache.

Also, can you build more than the 5 by 20 two story extension? If yes, you should just stick it out and build the maximum. Once you get into that type of renovation you should consider going all the way.

Also, it will depend on the amount of plumbing and electrical that is needed in the extension. Are bathrooms situated there? The price goes up when fixtures are needed, etc.

Roughly, this project will cost you between $150-$250 a foot depending on the above factors.

My sister just built an extension on 5th Street in Park Slope and had a great contractor who is bright and respectful. His name is Pete G and his number is 3474160381. His company is Ifathom Construction Corp. He can properly evaluate the situation and help you find the right architect/engineer as well.

Good luck!
