If they put the Starbucks on the site of burger/beer joint Brennan and Carr, which has been there since the 1930s, I'll never drink a cup of the mermaid's brew again.

The morning after election day I couldn't wait to don a flag pin, badge, iron-on, whatever. I looked all over the house and couldn't find anything, until I came upon a clip attached to my Brooklyn College ID badge. Totally offensive when I got it back in 2006; I've worn it on my backpack proudly every day for the past week.

Sheepshead/Gerritsen presumably includes luxe Manhattan Beach.

Huh. She could have easily found a co-op for under 250k in Midwood (or Gravesend, or Flatbush, or...) -- maybe not a 3-bedroom, but there's just one of her, yes?

Better make sure to get the $400k out of your bank, since the FDIC doesn't have enough in the insurance fund to cover prospective failures.

I went there once for brunch. The waiters were hungover, so the vibe put a real damper on my Sunday. Food was fine.

Yeah, but I still don't get why Apple is going with north Brooklyn, a quick subway ride away from the Meatpacking district store but not terribly accessible to vast parts of Brooklyn that have more people with more money to spend. Assuming Manhattan people don't make the trek to the Brooklyn store, how big could the north Brooklyn customer base possibly be? For all they've changed in the last few years most of Wburg/Bushwick/Greenpoint are still not wealthy.
