sprinkler repair
I was replacing a sprinkler head and tightened it too much. I now have a hairline crack in a "T" fitting on the wet system. Does anyone have a good person to call to fix this? and reasonable prices? Is there any way to fix this myself?

Illuminated Exit signs SRO
I was told by my insurance company that I have to have illuminated exit signs in my building. I have an Brownstone SRO. I'm not sure where to start or even if I need to have these signs. Does anyone have experience with this? Do I have to get a permit first with DOB?

I was wondering how eman1234 knows this? It is easy to call an electrician. It is another thing to know exactly what you need when you call them.
"call an electrician...they will need to be hardwired on an independent circuit"

It is difficult to search thought NYC fire codes and code 26. Does anyone know if SROs need exit signs illuminated? Does anyone know if there is an annual permit for this?
Thanks!

Modica Insurance 718-855-1836 placed us with a NY Brick & Brownstone program that seems designed for these type buildings. Really helpful and our policy was emailed the next morning. Good luck.

I think I've recommended him here before, but it bears repeating... I recommend Ralph Friumfreddo at The Brownstone Agency. They specialize in insuring brownstones etc. and after much research for two houses we have they came in with best rates for both. Tell him Amy from Halsey says Hi! His number is 212-962-5620.

I've found that State Farm has the best quotes for both owner-occupied and fully rented. I use Rodney Shannon's office on Fulton (718-221-2900) but there's also Alan Wheeler's office, who advertises everywhere (718-488-7300).

I would highly recommend Malloy Insurance I alway go to them first. I found that they get the best prices because they represent a bunch of insurance co. b/c theyare independent. It is def worth a call 203-351-9898. I just got my brownstone insured with them. Ps the service is great!
