Above comments are a little hard to argue with, BUT - they do make a good burger - both regular and veggie, and their beer selection is one of the best in the neighborhood, especially at spots that serve food.

for most other things there is obviously something better... why get fish and chips here when chip shop is 2 blocks away, and so on... but for a solid beer and burger, this is actually one of our favorites in the neighborhood.

Been to Rachel's way more than La Taqueria.
if you ask nice they used to steam up the burrito shells for you and melt some cheese on there as well. sometimes its hard to find exactly what you are looking for, but they will usually make you anything you ask for.

and the salsa bar is pretty great.

went here for brunch one day, and dinner the next. pretty wonderful.

highlight was definitely the Biscuits Benedict for brunch.
smoked ham, topped with 2 giant biscuits, 2 poached eggs and bacon gravy with HUGE chunks of bacon throughout. Pretty much incapacitated me for the remainder of the day, but still well worth it.

whiskeys are pretty cheap if you want to taste a few and see what you like.

Used to live around the corner and just realized how much i miss this place. A Coffee and chocolate croissant from here was pretty much the best thing in the world every morning. Always super friendly staff.

been for dinner once and wasn't totally blown away but the brunch is something special. especially the crispy bread w/harissa and shredded tomatoes. totally amazing comfort food there. the hummus is better than most in the area as well. and the outdoor seating in the summer is also a plus.

Big fan of this place and always a little surprised when folks aren't aware of it. Its no Lucali, but as far as "personal" pizzas go in the neighborhood, its a favorite. especially the sausage and olive pie.

EM is WAAAAAY better than Joya. The spicy noodle, panang curry, mango salad and roti pancake are all really good, but the secret star of the menu is the Duck Basil. really delicious.

i personally think its not all that different from max court, and i think the other max is still open in the city if you really miss it!

great great little place - menu highlight is the Cavatelli w/ Sausage & browned sage butter - its not a huge plate, but it is one of the most delicious things i have ever tasted.

also, if there is a long wait, they will take your phone number and you can walk down the block and have a drink at abilene... they give you a call 5 minutes before your table is ready. not a bad way to spend an evening!
