Love the owner--very friendly guy. Was just here for the first time last weekend and will be back. My espresso martini was perfect and the brick oven pizza was very good.
The sign was just taken down!!!

I was going to pose this question this morning, too. People have been stopping and gawking at the sign, it's that large. Crankypants is not a bitch, he/she is perfectly justified in questioning this.
They aren't selling the building. They were renting the apartments back in March and I've watched people move into them over the past few months. It makes sense that there is a business on the garden level because that wasn't included in any of the rentals. I really hope that sign comes down.

To speak to Carol Gardens comment, I live on Douglass near Smith and I've always maintained that I live in Cobble Hill. It wasn't until a month or two ago that a Corcoran agent told me that they considered the street Boerum Hill. But before that border debates would often arise over whether Douglass or Degraw was the beginning of Carroll Gardens. Agreed that it depends on the person and the neighborhood they want to identify with...Personally, I just like that all three of these great neighborhoods are right outside my door!

Order from the Carroll Gardens location all the time. They are fast and delicious, and sometimes throw in free desserts for no reason. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is always very friendly. Love this place!
I think it turned out pretty cool. They seemed pleased with it on the show last night, so good for them for successfully executing their vision. They are growing on me this season as well, particularly Alex. They live one block over from us and are always very friendly. I heard from someone affiliated with the show that the other women were pissed Bravo helped them with the product placement deal...

If you've been here less than 20 years, you wouldn't get it, or care, no worries. It was obviously made a post cause it would spark heated debate among the long and medium timers.

Thanks, 99 and Pete. Even if they are sneaking through the ordinance, it's still a pretty crass gesture and won't be making too many friends on the block. Maybe their security camera above the sign shows they anticipate a less than warm reception.

Just heard the news from a neighbor, that's great. I wonder what made them do the right thing.

Walked by last Sunday around 2pm, height of the early games, and despite the sign advertising the NFL package, the one TV was not showing a football game. The place looks cute but the candles in votives on the tables and one TV doesn't look like its going to be a sports bar.
