A tree falls in brooklyn

Between 6th and 7th ave on 9th street, a 'sidewalk' tree has been cut down for reasons unknown. Who's responsibility is it to remove the stump that will now takes it's place and replace it with some new greenery? Is there a time table to stick by? Along this stretch, this is probably the 5 or 6th stump I've seen. The others are clearly much older and have yet to be replaced. Who do I contact? Thanks.

um..not sure if it was mentioned or not, but a bike lane with a sewer grate right in the middle = accident (and lawsuit??) waiting to happen, no? at the very least a trashed set of rims...

Interesting perspectives but I don't think they differ much from the norm - especially from a competition POV as an earlier commenter noted. I think 4th Avenue needs to change a bit more for Le Blue to get (and stay) in the black. I do, however, find appeal in the roof bar and restaurant that they have in the works. To, me, this is the key. Pack a bar and nice restaurant scene into a hotel and it should work - who needs low vacancy rates!?! Again, cab parking lots and car washes need to die a painful death first. I'm sure at some point I'll consider suggesting a guest stay there for the sake of conveniency and staying close to my rental in PS. Pulling the trigger on that decision I can't guarantee

Not the biggest fan of dark tiles since they mask dirt and mildew but I do love the detail. Question - do you start from the center and work your way outward of vice versa?

I think the lack of interest in new development might be the realization that some new developments were thrown up quickly resulting in less than desirable workmanship. I think there is an attractiveness regarding residences built because someone had an earnest interest in a lifetime of equity and not just the cash from a quick sale to first time home buyers. However, getting into the market for some supercedes all else - even shoddy craftsmanship. (is that an oxymoron??)

...and besides, the URL is linked to a profile that first has to be accessed by other readers.

As a daily reader I find it rather interesting to know what other commenters/readers have going on. Perhaps they have started writing about a related (or even unrelated!) topic like green building or floral design on Long Island or a distant neighborhood and provide a unique perspective. To me, it fits with the viral nature of the internet. The last you'll hear o f me on this thread.

Easy Guests 2:11 and 2:38...breathe....not a spammer folks. true fan of Mr. B's work. And given the content and updates of my blog I really don't 'care' for traffic - if people find some of the content interesting (how I cope with planning my Fall 2008 wedding) then that's cool. If not, close the page. Isn't that how they all work?

Mr. B, why not include URL as part of commenter's profile like your "old" comment formatting? Random traffic to my blog, however infrequent, can only be a good thing, no?

I did that - renovated a farmhouse in chatham we bought for 175k and turned a 200k profit (or at least cash in hand) which we used for a deposit for a house here in bkln - unfortunately at very peak of market.

I highly recommend this system however, since you get two houses for price of one if you have a decent price on a rental here in NYC and if you buy here you may never be able to afford a second home.
