Snappy Name, they produce ozone as a by-product which is really bad for your lungs. Check out consumer reports on the web for the articles. Sharper Image went out of business because of their failed lawsuit over this product. I use the rabbit air purifier for my kid. Works great.

Unless fundamentals are changed.
I can't help to think that greed will rule the day again. This mortgage restructure and 700 Billion bailout will make some fat cat rich by taking a cut or siphoning the funds. I'm sure they will figure out a way to get a commission from appropriating this money to the sinking homes.

ditto, I'm not following you, Japs is in most use a derogatory term. If the broker says this area is Japanese fine, if the broker says this area here is japs, well it has a different ring to it.

"whats the problem as long as you don't discuss race?"

Problem discussing race, No
Problem with racism, Yes

dittoburg, what's a JAP, Jerks At Park slope?

We loved Park Slope/South slope, but moved out in 04 to sunset park because it got too expensive. We couldn't justify the $1900 a month for rent (probably $2200 by now if we stayed). So after 3 years that's a whooping 36K in savings towards paying off the student loans. You don't notice the difference month to month, but after a year it's substantial greenbacks.

Like General MacArthur, I hope to return but alas...

pjsubway,
The last thing expatriates from a communist country do is bring attention to themselves by donating to a political process. They don't get involved in the political process and like to remain incognito (ie. don't do anything to be deported), maybe their next generation will. The descendants of immigrants are not choosing an anti-socialist candidate, they want the best candidate for them and their country (USA). Many immigrants come to the US for better opportunity, not necessarily because they disagree with their former country's type of government.

Did Bloomy do well for the city the last five years, or was it simply all this debt spending and massive real estate tax increases that simply fueled the good times in NYC and the entire country.

Good times, and debt money going around means lower crime, so did Bloomy's works lower crime in NYC?

The school system is a mayoral agency...meet the new boss, same as the old boss. BTW there were many political enemies made from this mandate and shift of power. Those who were in power are laying low, this referendum needs to be voted on by the city council every x years. It can be flipped.

Where was his great financial acumen to see this collapse coming so he could steel the city against this. Maybe trim the city budget for the rainy day with the last 4 years of good times surplus. Even the WHAT saw this coming and he's no finance wizard like Bloomy.

Term limits were put in to protect the democratic process to prevent an individual from seizing power. What if George Washington ran for a third term, and then a fourth.

What if Bloomy had enough money and was corrupt and could rig elections. Isn't there a small town in Jersey like this? The mayor was corrupt and pretty much ran this insignificant township.

Businesses leave Manhattan because the rents are too high, and they should. If Manhattan wants to compete landlords will have to lower rents. I'm not a finance wizard, but that seems to be ECO 101.
