Had dinner at Since 1963 and was underwhelmed. Tasty food for the most part but...something was missing. My post will go up tomorrow if anyone's interested in photos & descriptions.

I, too, really liked this place when I went for dinner. Great vibe inside, laid-back staff let's you linger at your table (if it's not totally packed) and the ricotta dish is truly amazing. My friend and I had a hodge-podge of small dishes that we shared and loved everything. The Brussel sprouts were divine and the celery root mash was fantastic! There are photos on my blog if you're curious.

Here are some of my favorites I've posted about on my blog that I don't think I've seen on Brownstoner: Greenpoint Coffee House on Franklin Ave., Northeast Kingdom on Wycoff Ave., Lodge on Grand & Havemeyer, Il Passatore Trattoria on Bushwick Ave., Pit Stop on Columbia St., and Sidecar on 5th Ave.

I've had really mixed experiences here. The food is really good, with quality ingredients, but the service is so horrible it keeps me from going there. I don't need to be treated with kid gloves, but to be made to feel like a burden, like it's so annoying I walked in and ordered something, is not going to keep me as a customer. I posted some photos of my meals on my blog if you're curious as to what it all looks like. I too miss Delicatessen...

I really like this place - great atmosphere, great staff. Just wanted to make sure it was noted that they only serve Brunch on Sundays. Don't make the same mistake I did by showing up with your appetite on a Saturday morning!!! I've also got photos on my blog of both dinner and brunch.

Ghenet is such a nice place with delicious food. Definitely go with a big group and get a combo plate to share. The stews are the best, as are any of the veggie dishes. And the injera! Spongy, tangy and wonderful. Check out my blog for photos - went here back in the fall and had a great time!

For years I was skeptical of this place, but never tried it until recently. I was pleasantly surprised by everything. Whole fish, sausage, salads - everything was delicious and well-prepared. Kinda funny atmosphere, but comfy enough. Incredible desserts as well! Check out my blog for photos!

Love this place. Didn't want the secret to get out! I went here the day I got my braces (9th grade) and the waitress was so sweet. She brought me the most delicious rice ball smothered with tomato sauce and ricotta because it was soft enough for me to eat. She said it was what she gave her son when HE got braces. Now, that was 20 years ago, but it's still a great place!

I've only been to this place once, but had a lovely experience and amazing food. The baby clams and chorizo stew appetizer was incredible - flavorful and heaping with meat & clams. The seafood tapas was great too - loaded with all kinds of tasty morsels. The service was friendly and kind, and we were a large party with two rowdy teenagers. It is expensive though.

Love, love, LOVE this place. Have posted about it, with photos, on my blog. Great atmosphere, great meat from great farms & great tractor seats at the bar.

I went here recently and was told they were expanding their menu. I was pleasantly surprised with our meals too - Duck and Risotto!? Really good flavors and tender meat. The service is a bit off but there were no major problems with our food at all. And the space is crazy - huge and weird and great. It's also never packed, so you can always find a table. The Tofu sandwich is my favorite, and second runner up is the Sardine sandwich. As for tea - the Almond flavored one is the best. I leave most of the bubbles though cuz more than 5 make me feel ill!

Finally made it to Char No. 4 for Brunch (which means Bacon!) and it was fabulous. Best poached egg ever and something that's beyond bacon. For photos, go to: www.eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com

I have a great photo of that amazing butter pecan ice cream doused in whiskey here: http://eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com/2008/09/char-no4.html

Loved my dinner, can't wait to get back for brunch and bacon!

The Good Fork is amazing. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating. I went once with a large group and had so much to write about, I posted three times in one week. If you're interested in seeing photos of appetizers, entrees and desserts, check out: www.eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com

Great Brunch. Check out: www.eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com for photos and descriptions.

Being able to tolerate or enjoy the smell at Char No.4 is a matter of preference. I tend to have no tolerance for smoke, but this didn't bother me, and was more like being near a nice wood-burning fire. It added to the coziness for me. The food and service were top-notch as well, so I found it worth it. I mean, they cure their own bacon - that's enough for me!
