Actually it is modification of an old saying
"finding a turd in my milk"

which I guess if the farmer was not careful when milking the cow was a possibility

Brownstoner,

We are all guilty of giving The What too much importance

To be fair, he was treated as a Cassandra regarding the financial meltdown and there are still some on this site who don’t realize the horror show most of us are experiencing and will continue to experience and possibly worse

However, If you want the WHAT to go away then the smartest course of action is to simply ignore his posts and not comment on them

I wanted to read this posting for feedback on the census and found very little on topic

I have enough of my own doom & gloom thoughts, thank you, and really do not need to read doom and gloom vitriol written with such mirthful glee .

Brownstoner, I enjoyed the site more when the What was relegated to the Forum section

Everytime I read a posting from The What it is like finding a turd in my drink

Please consider limiting him to the Forum and those who enjoy his brand of postings can follow him there

Before anyone tells me to go back to Ohio, I was born & raised and have lived all my life in NYC(all boroughs except the Bronx) , I am emotionally as well as financially invested in this great neighborhood (Fort Greene, Wallabout, Clinton Hill & Bed-Stuy) and have no plans on being part of a new wave of Flight

Again, Brownstoner, Please reconsider limiting The What to the Forum

Agree the Building is totally out of context and ugly

The pricing is high for the area

However, this is not as horrible an area as other posters are making it out to be

I honestly do not see the difference ( beside the York F train stop & of course the manhattan skyline view) between this area and DUMBO. Dumbo is ringed by Public Housing and the BQE/Bridges. I find Dumbo more desolate at night then this area

It is a 5 minute bus ride/15 minute walk down Myrtle Avenue to Metro Tech

Brownstoner,

I wanted to read some comments on the Manhattan Beach & Clinton Hill properties.

I normally ignore the WHAT et al but today's amount of WHAT related postings is beyond ridiculous. How many posts am I forced to skip through because they are all related to WHAT drivel? On this thread alone 45+++ and counting.

I agree, Brownstoner is an open forum and everyone who is registered should be able to post their opinions or thoughts.

However, Brownstoner should seriously consider limiting the amount of comments per day/per user/per subject thread.

If a user wants to post more or wants to get into a debate with several other users ~ then move it to a private forum/thread that can easily be ignored by the majority of readers.

Also, I am not againt using vulgarity to make a point but come on..... enough is enough , every other word is asshat, assfuck, fisting, etc.

I can not be the only one who finds this offensive, annoying and distracting
