i cant walk naked in public, i cant piss in public, i cant drink in public, why the f*** can i smoke in public - it only enriches southern tobacco farmers and tobacco lobbyists.

i agree the rooftops should be better utilized..as an energy source, however, not as recreation space. put solar panels on all of them, reduce dependence on foreign oil and capture all the available free energy we lose each day from the sun.

if you are going to ticket me for drinking we need to change the laws and ticket people for smoking too. smoking in public places should be outlawed just like drinking in public has been.

put it this way, i bet - i have no clue btw - "the greenest block in brooklyn" is a block with a very high % of owners. can we consider green blocks desirable?

disagree has the right idea for all the blogging altruists out here...if nyc can tell me exactly where my $400 is going, they can keep it. if not, hand it over and i'll decide where it goes.

pitbull...very defensive but not accurate. high owner occupied areas are always more desirable than high rental areas. renters simply enrich landlords.

pitbull - tax code ridiculousness...flat tax would solve it all but would be too many wealthy people on the unemployment lines. that being said, homeowners are more responsible citizens than non-homeowners simply because of their investment in the community. co-op v rental building - where would you rather live?

it always come down to the same argument. who do you want determining how YOUR hard earned money is spent in the most efficient manner - you or your government? quite frankly, i'd choose myself anyday of the week. bring on the $400 and next year make it $500, thank you.

this is terrible news for brooklyn. Both the M and G are trains that had noticeable increases in ridership over the last 10 years and were thriving as people populated the previously sparse regions of the borough. nyc is taking significant steps backwards with moves like these.

hood or otherwise, this seems like the kind of conversion that more developers should have undertaken. unless the world completely collapses, this seems like it will stand the test of time given another price cut or two or three. real estate has aways been a long term investment and i dont think i'd be unhappy living here in 10 years.

this sucks...a nice bone whenever it arrived. obama certainly has his hands full beyond what he may even have thought given that his sole attention was in defeating mccain and not necessarily on the reality of the fast, deteriorating economy that he is inheriting.

Hey Bob Marvin,
How did you heat your house in the 17th century when you bought next door to your old pal Leffert?

Methodist ER is a MASH unit plain and simple...it is used as a free clinic for all of the immediate hoods b/c it is assumed the care will be better in "Park Slope." Bad assumption, I'm afraid.
