Did anyone see that the Forte has been re-branded 230 Ashland? 2 bedrooms for under 500K. The hitch is the maintenance, higher than the clouds.

PV, eman has a good point though. I've never seen a vanity jammed up against a drop in tub. Design issues? Bad construction? How do you take a shower w/o the whole place being soaking wet? Doesn't seem as if there is room for framless glass dorrs or a shower curtain.

I can see having a heart attack and dying while running for the G, but to be hit by one? Almost as unlikely as dying by being hit by the B61 bus.

Concerning 585K at the CH coops, I think that would have set a record. I don't think I've seen anything else there offered over $525K. There was a 2 bedroom at 360 that was going for 575 or almost 600K in 2008, but that was in a smaller building and had more pre-war charm. maybe the sellers made an incorrect comparison.

snappy, that's insane for a used bed, but new, hastens bed is what I would think sleeping on a cloud would be like.

"Hiring an engineer is something different, but why should you have to hire an engineer to look at a new condo that has just received its C of O?"
Looked at a lot of new condos in old buildings/new dev and many couldn't hang the gd bathroom cabinent straight.

Plus the other contruction defects worth 880K. If they did spend $400 on an inspection then I would hope they're named in the suit as well.

I wonder if the couple got an engineers report before they brought the place. If the agents couldn't show the place in the rain, do you think and engineer would have caught something?
Posted by: DeLepp at November 17, 2009 9:22 AM in response to Corcoran Found Negligent in Park Slope Condo Sale
880K to fix the construction defects? That's probably double the budget to rehab this wreck to begin with.

I think East of Classon is Bedstuy. The Clinton Hill border is quite fluid to re agents. That being said there a quite a few eaterys in Clinton Hill, more neighborhood like. Not a mob scene like billybug. The 38 bus to Dekalb to catch the B or Q express is pretty quick.

heather, it was an old warehouse. The renovation was interesting, but odd. Kitchen sinks were the smallest I ever saw.

Too much. I looked at that place myself, though I would have made a fortune when ratner was paying people to leave the place itself had lots of issues, like no heat or hot water.

That house explains why royalty doesn't get divorced. 21K square feet leaves lots of room for shennigans to go unnoticed.

"If Congress steers through the Great Recession without responding to the thousand points of pain among average Americans, people will see them for what they are in bottom-line terms: an insulated club. Proof, just recently, came from a Center for Responsive Politics report that 237 members of Congress — 44 percent — are millionaires, compared to just 1 percent for the country as whole.
In theory, there’s nothing wrong with a Congress stuffed with people who don’t have to buy health care on the open market, or worry about meeting a mortgage payment. But in practice, it’s a prescription for misrepresentation. And though Congress is now trying to curb Wall Street excess, the reform effort seems headed for K Street strangulation."
From Egan of NYtimes. I doubt 44% of Wall Street are millionaires.

MM, as always terrific info. The woodwork at 315 Clinton in the hallways is sensational. A 2-bedroom was recently for sale there for 699K.

I'm not sure how 1100 sq feet was calculated unless it's including part of hall way, lobby and some air outside the windows. The width of apt is 27 feet, that means it would need to be 40 feet in length.
That being said you can entertain in a 15x15 space, but why would you pay $770K for that pleasure?

dibs, that's is why I avoid the A at all costs. Have had more altercations on that train with people who think their name is on the outside.
The only good moment is when someone got on once, their gun dropped and skidded across the floor. All looked up and then went back to their reading.

And those top floor windows, perfect for peering out of.

Room for senior in garden apt, check
I actually like the brick wall here, usually don't.
All in all lovely.
Though not sure about the $2800 for the garden apt, seems a little high for these times.
