stick them on the curb the night before recylcing, either a person will snatch them for scrap or sanitation will take them.

or, post the sizes here, better yet on craigsist, with a photo, and someone will pay you a bit to take them off your hands and use in their place (they can repaint them if ugly).

Craigslist is the easiest garbage disposal I've ever seen - that and stoop sales - people pay you to carry away your stuff.

Thanks! I think we'll try putting them out on the curb the night before and see what happens.

You should post the sizes here. I'm actually looking for some ugly old radiator covers. I would possible come get them.

If they're mostly metal, they're recyclable. Although they would probably get picked up before sanitation even gets there.

Okay, I'll measure them tonight and post the sizes tomorrow. I was planning to put them on the curb on Friday night anyway, so if anyone wants them, they can let me know tomorrow.

I used this great non-profit service today called Rebuilders Source Coop -- a non profit that will pick up usable items from renovations and provide a receipt for tax deduction purposes. They took almost all of our post renovation stuff and saved them from the landfill. 718-742-1111
