We use a hand held device called a Themacell. It is popular with hunters and campers. It only works in a 15 square feet area around the device, but it works well.

Daveinbedstuy,
Who do you think will pay for this? The answer is...... taxpayers.
Either you are not a taxpayer or you are not very bright.
If this art installation caused so much damage, where are the pictures?

I have an actual suggestions Brownstoner.
Why not give certain people you know and trust the authority to monitor the comments. They can remind people to stay on topic, delete the inflammatory and inappropriate posts and shut down threads when things get really bad.

Simply a stunning job by everyone involved: Owner, architect and builder. My hats off to them.

There are a lot of great places in the world to live. I would not put Atlanta high on that list, but that is just my opinion. I for one could only live in or near New York City. It is where my family, friends, and job are. I would be sad just about anywhere else. I am glad these people moved out of New York. More room for me!

I can tell you whatever I want! The hotdogs are reasonably priced for what you get in terms of toppings, quality, ability to sit down, service, etc, etc.

Fantastic hot dogs. I love this place.

You check the comps. An identical house just down the block on 1st Street sold for $1.75 million in 2006. That year is pretty close to the peak of the market and the sale price equals about $700 per square foot. Clearly the question now is how far off of the peak are we now. I guess we will find out when this house goes to contract.

For what it is worth - the house on 1st Street that was sold in 2004 for $1.225 was not habitable. It needed a gut renovation before it could be lived in. Its hard to compare that house and price with the 356.

I thought the article was interesting and it justifies my decision to avoid the coop like the plague. Winelover hits the nail on the head. Those couple of hours a month are worth more to me than I could ever save on groceries.
