COPS on Grand and Putnam

The cops had the famous crime ridden block of Grand and putnam shut down last night. Anyone knows what happened?

BROKEN ANGEL CONDOS. WHAT HAPPENED?

I wonder what ever happened to the condo development that was suppose to happen in the Broken Angel. All the hype, but no action. Anyone knows?

I feel that there are few better houses for sale in Bed Stuy then this garbage for it to be posted twice as HOTD. Mr.B you have to get it together, the site has loss credibility with the recent listings you put up. Its a bad market and you've yet to list anything thats even worth considering.

And Dave what the hell you talking about, since when have you become the poster boy for Bed stuy. The house doesn't need that much work or it would reflect the price. This house has a funny layout. bad realtor and it needs some work and badly priced thats the only reason it hasn't sold.

Wasder- Thank you..... Happy Friday by the way.

Dave- Get off The What's NUT Sack Dam it!!! Be a Man, you live in Bed Stuy now so act like it.

2M.... LMFAO.....

Some crazy sucker that doesnt know the neighborhood well would pay such a price, because of course Clinton Hill is the place to live.
-Then that same optimistic garbage man who loves taking out your trash doesn't stop begging you for money. Say hi to a crackhead.
-Then you'll get introduced to the sound of gun fire from that occasional shoot out on the corner of Putnam and Grand. No thats not fireworks.
-Then you'll realize that those Zombies walking through his block and on Fulton ave all day are Methadone patients. No your not watching a horror movie.

All I could say is welcome to the Hood, SUCKER!.

It’s a no secret that Bed Stuy as a whole is experiencing a culture renaissance. The same thing that happened in Fort Greene in the 90’s and Clinton Hill to follow is happening RIGHT NOW. The main reason is because most Families whites and blacks alike are getting pushed back from Downtown. This is still the only place to find an affordable Brownstone as well as friendly educated Families with morals that care about where they live. Never the less the neighborhood still has its edge, crack heads, muggers, and penny criminals roam these streets that they seem to only know. This comes from decades of abuse from Riots in the late 70’s to the crack/cocaine epidemic of the 80’s to the current sub prime crimes that many uneducated folks got caught in the middle off. Bed Stuy has come a long way and still has ways to go.

They do look nice, but I prefer this listing from Corcoran:

Just seems like a better buy.

There's really no stopping a rat from getting inside, it'll chew through almost anything.

-Try to fence your yard as solid as possible.
-Call the city and they will send an exterminator with real strong poison, they will dig it where the problem is.
-If all elses fails... MOVE.

Location, they are right next to each other. But I agree with you. I hate Atlantic avenue, it looks like an accidnet waiting to happen. where are the cars racing to anyway.

Dave.

Put your skirt down. It wasn't met to be a racist comment. Just a mataphor of the hard times we are facing.

Posted by: Brooklyns_da_Boro at September 17, 2008 4:46 PM in response to SELL vs RENT?

Brownstone Brooklyn is in very high demand right now. I don't think they will be greatly affected by this market. There's such a big demand for Brownstones that buyers are expanding their search into usually tough Brooklyn neighborhoods suchs Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown heights. All you really have to look at is how bad things are around the nation and yet there isn't a single fairly priced house on the market in Brownstone Brooklyn. I can only imagine the madness in Brooklyn once the market comes back. Investors are just putting on their war faces and waiting for this bombing to pass by and take these Repubicans with them.

OBAMA 08- he can't paint the white house black fast enough.

Wasder:

I agree with you on the goofy layouts of some of these apts. I went to an open house last year and they had the master bedroom in the basement. But the particular unit of interest doesn't seem to have such a bad layout. I also think that buying in a new construction that hasn't settle down yet may be a problem later on.

Posted by: Brooklyns_da_Boro at September 17, 2008 4:04 PM in response to ISABELA CONDOS or CATHEDRAL CONDOS

It really depends what rocks your boat. Modern living is dandy and all, but architecturely you can't compare the buildings or apts. I say Cathedral Condos, they're about the same price per SQF anyway.

Can someone point to me where in Clinton Hill, Williamsburg or park Slope I can find a home for less then 1 Million dollars. Trust me I've been looking.

Posted by: Brooklyns_da_Boro at September 17, 2008 11:38 AM in response to First Time Buyers Head Far Out in Brooklyn

They look ok, but I like the building next door architecture insted of this one. Everything slooks so simple though for a Brownstone neighborhood. But I guess everyone has their preference.

Those prices just scare me. How they come up with those figures? Madness its just plain madness.....

Posted by: Brooklyns_da_Boro at August 20, 2008 1:40 PM in response to House of the Day: 152 Underhill Avenue

I think its fairly priced, the walk up situation its not that serious. I'm more concerned about the square footage, its kind of small. And a posting with no interior photos raise a red flag. But overall for the area and building it should sale close to.

Thanks for clearing that up, maybe not having this house landmarked can workout better for the buyer. They won't have to deal with the Bureaucracy of the LPC. Then this house would be worth every headache. Including that Ghetto Building right next to it.

I also had the same problem locating the house on Google streetview. Google actually has the wrong streetview of the beginning of Cambrodge pl. Dont know what happen there.

Posted by: Brooklyns_da_Boro at August 14, 2008 2:08 PM in response to House of the Day: 132 Cambridge Place

I'm not sure if its Landmarked. According to the Map;
http://www.nyc.gov/html/lpc/downloads/pdf/maps/clinton_hill.pdf

The last house on that block that is landmarked is 128 Cambridge just making 132 short of landmark status. Unless somthing has recently changed.
