Can anyone recommend a good ironwork person to strip decades of crappy bumpy paint off fence and banister outside a brownstone in Bed Stuy?

No actually doors WERE stolen in Bed Stuy to be placed on doors in other neighborhoods. Many manels and other orginal detailings were robbed. Some were sold to "Sanford and Son" like junk yards by crack heads feeding their habits. Our door is a replaced door and albeit not crazy ugly, not original.

Ritchie Havens is my Great Uncle. He was the first artist to take the stage. He is still performing (A LOT :-)

I donated as well and will be seed bombing in April... Someone brought up the Broken Glass theory and I was just going to mention it as well! Only good can come of this and I for one am VERY excited:-)

LOL @ 1:33. Yeah some Walmarts are nice (in Florida or Texas I have seen nice ones). The Target in Port St Lucie Florida is heaven. Clean stocked orderly and the staff actually WANT to help you. Target in BK I have to pray, deep breathe and say a mantra when I walk in. But actually I went in on Christmas Eve and it was not bad. Lines were actually fast. Go figure.

I am EXCITED! My suggestions are the same... I like what Choice Market in my old neighborhood offered... prepared dinners or sides or rotissary chicken is great... Also yummy desserts. How about organic baby food like Earth's Best? Organic Milk too... Seventh Generation supplies?

Really guestula at 12:18 PM? I think T-Cup is elegant, neat, beautiful color choices and although small, very nice. ESPECIALLY for the area. Café Colador looks like Hee Haw, rustic and thrown together from the outside... In the area you need to go REAL nice before you delve into kitsch I think.

I LOVE this place - been 4 times. I walk down Throop to the C train and it is a nice addition to the neighborhood! Tanya is VERY nice and I LOVE the color choices and decor! Good job Tanya and so glad it is here!

Heather -

Little Red Boutique in the hood (Bed Suy on Lewis) has all of that (Meyers, Burt Bee's, candles you name it).

Not sure where you are. I use to live in Clinton Hill (near Pratt and Choice Market). But now we are in a Brownstone in Bed Stuy. Struggle to find everything (pick stuff up on the way home or Target runs or order groceries from Restoration Plaza Foodtown). Or better yet, ASK merchants to carry stuff (on my quest to get Target to carry Seventh Generation diapers if it kills me).

I'm excited for the Duane Reade on Nostrand and I hate Duane Reade (prefer CVS). Sorry big chains work on wealth of merchandise and convenient hours...

You all are forgetting the Target at Starett City. I go there because coming from the suburbs I REFUSE to pay for parking like Atlantic Center has the gall to do... Starett City has a Bed Bath and Beyond, Babies R Us and a Home Depot as well as other things. But ONLY go first thing in the morning. Any other time it is like they are having a "everything free and it is the end of days" sale.
