Best "Green" boiler
What is the most "green" boiler out there - currently we are using oil steam heat and need to replace this system and are trying to find the most environmentally friendly system that we can retro fit into an old brownstone? Plus we don't have endless supplies of monies - so we are also looking for an economical solution as well.

If you are looking to buy in this area you will find out that the same house on windsor sold for around 1.4 mil listed by warren lewis, 2 houses around howard place (same style house) sold recently for 1.35 so I don't think 1.35 is far from the selling price. If you think you can by in other "better" area then fine do it I would too - but I haven't seen a whole house for sale in those areas for less than 1.4.
As far as someone looking at this house awhile ago with family problems that was the house next door - it had a contracts for north of a mil but had never gone to closing - will issues
all of these house have extension for the kitchen

I guess you live on the street? (guest) Unfortunately before we bought the house the windows on the side of the porch were rotted beyond repair - it was very dangerous and had to be taken care of - I decided to wall that side in instead of putting in other windows that did not match. Actually the windows on that side had been replaced and did not match to began with. That side of the porch has a tremendous amount of rain and I put in hardiplank on that side - not plywood - also it will be trimmed out but unfortunately our carpenter had to move suddenly due to a family illness and the trim has not been done. Sorry if you don't like but I have enjoyed the safer front porch and the added privacy the wall has created.

i could recommend myself but that would just be biased.. basically trust your gut. never go for the cheapest company nor the one with the most bells and whistles. good design is a perfect harmony of form and function
