Nice renovation, chicken, especially given the budget. I'm not sure why people don't go with this sort of unpretentious yet simple, elegantly functional design over here very much. It seems much more common in Europe.

What is the tub surround made of? Also enameled steel?

Hi,

I realize that this is an old post, but I just came across it and given some of the above responses, it seems that there is a need.

I do real diamond polished concrete in New York City. I specialize in residential jobs but I also do commercial. I can polish your existing slab, pour and polish a new one, or submit my mix specifications to your contractor for ideal concrete to be then polished by me.

Every job is different and I'm happy to provide a free estimate for your specific job, but the price for polishing an existing 1000+ square foot slab is from $5. - $10./square foot depending on its condition and the results desired.

Rough slabs require grinding before polishing can occur. Hard, dense concrete (5000 psi) takes a polish more readily than lower psi concrete, or concrete poured with a high water content in the mix.
