This space used to be a great jewish bakery. Then it was a restaurant called Cripple Creek or something.

They play the music too loud for me to enjoy going there. I know this is a sign of getting old, but so be it.

that Myrtle Ave. bus is crowded. It's a crappy location for a commuter. Maybe they can cram four Pratt Students into each one bedroom?

most of the Dunkin Donuts in Boston are great. NY City just has the most awful franchisee for DD...the Riese Corp. Ugh. With their super low standards, I can't imagine Tim Horton will be any better.

maybe Jews - Tattoos is like Catholics and Suicide. The Church says that if you commit suicide you can't have a catholic burial, but in practice (in liberal areas) they'll still do the Catholic mass and burial and shrug it off saying the suicidee made a mistake and will be forgiven.

Un Pizza Napoletana - I liked it, but (excuse if I sound ignorant here) the pizza tasted almost exactly the same as the pizza at Franny's on Flatbush (and both are EXPENSIVE.) I think UPN is only open Thurs. thru Sat. or something like that (usual arbitrary silliness intended to give food writers a hard-on.)

is it in Zagats yet? For years it wasn't. I like it.
I assume you're joking, but Corcoran didn't even know where Ft. Greene was on a map when the Clinton Hill historic district was carved out of Ft. Greene and Clinton Hill. My wife and I have an old map where the neighborhood is called Adelphi, just like at the Fulton Ave. post office.

I didn't think these little two stories count as "townhouses"...I thought it was formerly "worker housing."

blowfish...do you work at Corcoran? or did you just buy from them?
Only the Clinton Hill side of Classon has "one day a week" alternate side parking. The trash pick up schedule/the police precinct are two other dividers. Also, the Pratt Campus stops at Classon. The Nuns on the Bed-Stuy side of Classon say they are in Bed-Stuy.

I ate there last night...both my belly and my wife's are very unhappy. It was a cool performance space and I'll go back there for entertainment, but I won't be ordering a meal there again.
maybe they were trying to get away from a carjacker? Waverly is ground zero for muggings in CH (though the Clinton/Washington G stop is good place to give up your iPhone.)

I suspect insurance fraud and the fireworks story is a cover. I bet the cement company down the road (actually on Kent)had thought of that...too bad cement doesn't burn.

Unbelievable. I have a feeling the tourists are likely to be a bit underwhelmed. Some parts seem more like San Juan or Tijuana than 70's Manhattan. Other parts are just boring.

Gristedes supermarkets are dumps (as we all know) and the employees are generally badly trained and indifferent to customer service...I thought it was unbelievable that this guy was contemplating running for mayor. I feel sorry for the folks that move into this building. Expect a shoddy experience.

Good to hear! Bicycle Station used to drive me crazy. The BS folks were super nice, but it seemed like they never touched my bike until the moment I showed up to pick it up, then they would do a half-assed job and tell me to bring the bike back if I wasn't satisfied. I've moved on to Recycle-a-Bike in Dumbo as they seem more conscientious (and equally nice.)
