shaking building

Hi, I recently moved into a new building and I've noticed that it shakes quite bit when a truck passes by. Is this normal? If not, who should I contact in addition to the landlord? Thank you.

myrtle housing

Does anyone have information on the housing area off of Myrtle near the Cumberland Diagnostic and Treatment Center (00 North Portland Avenue
Brooklyn, New York 11205). Are these projects? If so, do they have a name?

spoons99 we have acquaintenances that ended up renting and our also having second thoughts. same thing - no lease and told them that there were only 8 vacancies. keep me posted on what you decide and i'll be happy to put you in touch with them.

as for softlayer1's comment, the whole point of my post was to say i mistrust brokers - whether they be cocoran or any other.

We checked out the apts a couple of evenings ago since we're in the market to rent in the area. Some not all are pretty nice. Def expensive. The broker at Ideal said that there were only 8 vacancies and all had been rented. That's a pretty shadey thing to do if they haven't been able to rent more than 6-15 out of the 52. Makes me glad we decided against it. Just for the record I have no experience with Cocoran. But in general I think brokers need to be held responsible for such dishonest behavior.

If there's a real problem you'll see tell tales (i.e. cracking + separating).

Just keep an eye on things moving or cracking.

I lived in a building on Bedford for a couple years and the windows were pulling away from the structure of the building and some panes cracked due to the truck traffic.

jes' vibrations from the truck traffic... my building vibrates when heavy trucks barrel down the street, and my co-op building is very old... by the way, been living in the building for the past 25 years!
