"I rather pocket the money for that extra expense of a brokers fee"

They came to my door too. I signed with them, then immeditaly called Con Ed and they said that there is nothing that they can do about it BUT they say that they offer you a dicounted rate for 2-3 months, then the rate goes up about 3 times what Con Edison is charging you. I then called up IDT and cancelled with them..hope it sticks.

Why are people so rude on this forum?
Will this food coop be run similiar to the one in Park Slope? Do you have to volunteer your time in order to be a member?

Corcoran has a listing just around the corner from the Windsor Place house for a lot less!

5th Av. between 12th & 18th Sts has vendors selling those things for $2.00 each ($10 for 5) Also, in Manhattan, Lex Av between 53rd & 56th - can't remember exactly but saw them last week - on the west side of the Av.

I agree with HomeSweetStuy - head over to Bstuy and one of the shop owners along Fulton/Nordstrand will be more than willing to negotiate with you. Don't spend a lot on sweatshirts in this economy. Remember you will probably have to pay for extra luggage.......

I went to see this building and the square footage numbers are ALL WRONG!!! They are counting the outdoor space in the living space square footage. For example (and I don't remember the exact numbers) but the apartment is 500 s/f and the outdoor space is 700s/f...so they are saying that they are selling a 1200 s/f one bedroom apartment, when it ABSOLUTELY isn't! These brokers should loose their licenese over this! They are wasting serious buyers time!
I ended up buying at 95 Lexington Avenue (Corcoran has it)...cool building if anyone hasnt seen it yet.
