Psychedelic Shamanism: Tripping with Caveh
“Dropping” acid in high school or eating Mushrooms in college is still an American rite of passage, but few filmmakers have made the hallucinogenic experience an integral part of their work. Caveh Zahedi has spent the past 20 years exploring the spiritually transformative potential of psychoactive drugs and documenting these explorations in his autobiographical films. He has even made a TV pilot, Tripping with Caveh ( inspired by John Lurie’s Fishing with John series) with Will Oldham playing Dante to Caveh’s mushroom-addled Virgil. Join him for a first-hand account of his own experiences in the psychedelic realm. Monday, November 16. 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Free. 709 Lorimer Street, Pete's Candy Store.
