It’s a no-brainer, the new Bed-Stuy & some what Bushwick are gentrifying each passing day; plus you have transportation issues (e.g., 20 extra minutes each way by train/bus to eny or Brownsville and Less of change of being harassed by rowdy project teens on the subway/bus). Now you have a clue!!!

yikes... just relocated to Bed-Stuy on Dekalb ave w/family to stay. any time I state...I reside in "Bed-Stuy" to my hipster friends; they all reply with..."oh, you mean "The New Bed-Stuy"!!! What a take on names; such as "SH of Bed-stuy"! now more & more of my hipster friends are relocating to Bed-Stuy...I mean the "New Bed-Stuy" to them, I think!??? what's your take on the name game??? Inquiring minds want to know!

That's right! Americans have a right to relocate to any nabe in the USA (including Bklyn) without any questions asked. if rents go up...so what else is new in life!?

Americans have been relocating all over the US from day one.
change happens everyday; again, what ever happen to the "It takes a Village", proverp??? it's all bullsh!t.

mugging ppl is a crime no matter which way you look at it.

again with the naysayer's; somehow it's someone relocating to NYC (Bklyn) from anywhere in "America", are the blame for being mugged by so-called "black teens" with nothing else better to do; but create more hate to themselves!

Yeah...what about the so-called "Village" proverb; we always hear about??? How so-called nabe families are suppose to be watching out for the kids/teens. to me...it's all BullSh!t!!! Let the "Gentrfication" continue.

BullSh!t! Nobody is telling anyone from the projects to move anywhere! It’s just people do not enjoy being harassed by people from the projects or apt bldgs as they walk by. It’s just causing more resentment towards the residents from the projects & apts. Bldgs.

I have given a lot of thought to the kids being kids argument. When I was younger, I benefited from it (albeit to a lesser degree than shooting someone). I did have a friend that stun gunned someone and got expelled, but anyway....

The difference is that for kids in the lower socioeconomic classes, they have a lot fewer opportunities to improve their lot in life. Does anyone remember the Pot Princess who went to NYU and was selling drugs in Washington Square Park? Her family weaseled her out and it didnt destroy her life. If it had been a kid from the projects, he'd have been done.

It's happening in schools too. Safety officers arrest everyone for even minor infractions, causing mandatory suspension.

These are disadvantages, and they are distinctly unfair.
However, when individuals excuse these kids from taking those risks, they are doing those kids a disservice.

went out for chinese again around the same time
was in front of a different building on a different block and there were a lot of cops
i asked what was going on and they said someone was doing it again, had hit a few latino teens i think but no damage done that i could see (maybe hit their clothes)
