Although we have seen Saturday Night Fever, long-time readers and critics will not be surprised to learn we’ve never set foot in Bensonhurst. East of Bay Ridge and South of Borough Park, the area is bounded by 61st Street, McDonald Avenue, Gravesend Bay and 14th Avenue. The neighborhood has traditionally been predominantly Italian and Jewish–with the accompanying blend of traditional cafes and food shops–though the Chinese population is growing the most rapidly now.
