moldingsThe four large bedrooms on the top two floors of our house all originally had marble sinks built in. We removed one of them to make more room for the master bathroom, but we’re preserving the rest in non-working condition. They will make for nice dressing tables or desks, depending on the occupant. Unfortunately, however, the original wood cabinetry underneath the sinks did not survive the house’s former incarnation as an SRO. More on the sinks as well as a discussion on how we’re laying out the parlor floor on the Renovation Blog.

  1. the sinks are very cool- i’ve been trying to find photos of interiors, i’ve found “new york interiors” which has photos of interiors of brownstones etc. 1850-1920 or something like that but i am always hoping to come across that photo that resembles my layout with it’s original features intact- not my house but one that at least would represent the feel of the layout- anyway, i know i am not the only one- has anyone come across a way they found some more specifics (photos, blueprints) about interiors of (the last) turn of the century brooklyn brownstones?
i haven’t done the research thru the DOB yet has anyone been through that experience?

(sorry i posted this twice but i meant to put here on the main.)
