bklyndesigns555.jpgThis year’s Brooklyn Designs exhibition is shaping up to be the best one in the event’s five-year history. Like last year, the show will place a heavy emphasis on green design. Of particular interest to Brownstoner readers will be a Saturday afternoon panel discussion about the green renovation of Adrian Grenier‘s house. (Sorry, ladies, the Entourage star will be sending him mom in his place.) Another reason we wish we didn’t have to go to our high school reunion this weekend: The panel discussion about the 110 Livingston Street conversion called Landmark Meets Modern in Brooklyn: Case Study: Board of Ed Conversion to Luxury Condos. Serving as a kick-off for NY Design Week, the event is also very much about commerce. In addition to a cash-and-carry marketplace, there will be over 60 exhibitors, including shelving company Manche Mitchell and kids furniture designer Argington. 1. This is a great show and thank GOD it’s not the Architectural Digest Drab that happened in the City. If you can find something better in Brooklyn I’ll buy you the rocking chair that you’ll need from all that searching… As a matter of fact can you tell me where else in the five boroughs you can find a better show? Boy, you manhattanite transplants….
