In search of contractor

We are finishing our cellar and need the following done:
(i) Relocate pipes & cables
(ii) Replace rear yard pavement with stamped concrete (properly sloped so that it doesn't allow water into the basement)
(iii) Demo & excavate cellar floor
(iv) Point and waterproof foundation walls. Cast new floor
(v) Create interior framing
(vi) Install wiring, receptacles and light fixtures
(vii) nstall gypsum walls/ceilings
(viii) Paint walls, ceiling, floor
(ix) Install baseboard heat

Can somebody please recommend a good contractor who can handle this work? There will be supervision by an engineer.

Thanks!

building a closet- price per sq ft?

does anyone know how to estimate the cost of closets built out of existing space? this guy's trying to charge like 5,000 for 77 sq ft. I'm thinking around 2,500 because most/half of it is empty space w/ rods for hanging. any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Moth infestation - Bulk Dry Cleaning

I had moth infestation in 2 closets, creating a nice mess. The exterminator cleaned up the closets - now everything needs to be cleaned. I am looking for a bulk dry cleaner in Brooklyn. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Motion detectors and Cats

I imagine this has to be a common issue and would love some feedback on how you deal with having motion detectors in your townhouse (as mandated by the insurance company) and not have them constantly go off because of pets (in our case two cats). Any advice? Thanks.

Color Stain for Hardwood Floors Being Refinished

I'm having my living room and kitchen floors refinished next week. I was told they are white oak and the contractor will be using a water based stain (Minwax). I cannot decide on the color of the stain and would appreciate suggestions on what color stain looks good and what doesn't. I realize this is a personal choice but I'm looking for input from others who have white oak floors. Since the wood is now covered with paint and carpet it is hard to imagine what it will look like. Thanks.

Original Sidewalk Bluestone for sale

I have a large pile of thick sidewalk bluestone pieces which I had planned to use in my garden design. I'm giving up and would like to get them out of my front yard - by tomorrow or thursday latest! I can not move them to measure becasue they weigh a ton. They are thick (up to 4 in?) and some are quite large. Goes to best offer who has a way to get them quick. Call me at 503-490-5511 if interested.

Townhouse Must Have Security Systems?

I've been told that Chubb Insurance now demands that all NYC townhouses must have a security system (with a link to a monitoring company) -- and that this is a city wide policy. I'm trying to get this verified with Chubb, but wanted to know if anyone else had heard the same thing? Thanks in advance. Also, has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with D&W (a security company)?
