Discount Tile
Any recommendations on a warehouse, etc., preferably in Brooklyn, that has a good selection of quality tile at cost conscious prices? Tiles are for bathroom, laundry room and mudroom renovations. Thanks in advance.

Help Me Repair My Shower Threshold
I have a walk-in shower with a threshold covered in penny-round tiles (see photo). Given the large grout-to-tile ratio, it is no surprise that the tiles on the inner wall of the threshold are damp and crumbling off. (It's not evident in the photo, but the tiles are indeed falling off.)
What do you recommend I do to repair or rebuild this threshold? I'm not married to these tiles. I was thinking either a piece of custom-molded Corian or a solid block of marble, given my past troubles with tiled thresholds...

Anyone had problems with Nemo subway tile?
Upon seeing the subway tile we bought from Nemo, our contractor said that this type of thin, cheap subway tile quickly suffers from water damage and discoloration around the edges. He said Daltile's subway tiles were much better quality. Has anyone heard this before?

regrout vs. retile
Hi,
We need to do some minor renovation on our 1980's era, 5'x9', falling apart, solo bathroom. We're thinking of a simple IKEA sink/cabinet and have already replaced the toilet out of necessity. The big question is the floor. It's large white hex tile (seems like a standard size I've seen before) which is fine (but not my dream tile). Only 2 tiles are cracked and the grout is awful. I read a bit about regrouting and realize it is a pain, but it seems way easier than ripping up all the tile, leveling the floor, retiling, and then grouting. How easy do y'all think it would be to replace the 2 broken tiles, bleach/scrub the existing tiles, and regrout without removing the toilet? Has anyone done this as part of a smaller reno instead of a bathroom gut reno. I can live with the icky bisque colored tub if everything else is gleaming white and shiny looking. Thanks for thoughts and advice!

Bathroom Reno - any contractor recos?
Hi there,
I'm closing on Friday - 3 weeks late - and moving into my new space on April 5th. I need someone to demo the old tile in the bathroom and install the new somewhat quickly. Any recommendations on someone that's fast and reasonably priced? Everyone on this board always seems to have the inside scoop. Thank you in advance!

Vintage Bathroom Reno - Where to find deco tile
Updating a basement bathroom due to a water issue from the exterior (that's another story). Gutting all except the original showerstall which is done in the classic mint green and black deco 4x4 tile and is in great condition. Want to keep the same vintage look in the bathroom but need to find more of this mint green tile. Does anyone know who carries these - or, a maufacturer that produces similar tile I can use for the walls and floor?
