Need recs for Park Slope tour
Just got off the phone with my parents who have decided to come visit for Thanksgiving. Mother said she wants to go walk around "that neighborhood I keep reading about in the times, Park Slope?" (oh gawd). Anyway, I am really only familiar with the retail avenues of the slope, but she wants to see some classic brownstone side streets. Can folks in the know please clue me into exactly which blocks are not to be missed? Thank you! BoD

Kensington
Does anyone care to share how they project the KENS rental market to look in 18-24 months? I'm working on a development project and I am trying to get a handle on the current supply and demand constraints along Church Ave. I suspect the area is being negatively hit with decreases in rents in PS and WT, no? Would like to discuss off-line for those interested. Thanks.

Looking to Buy condo in Brroklyn
My wife and I are looking to buy a condo in Brooklyn, we are looking to spend apx 400k for a 1 bedroom. Williamsburg is not for us. We love DUMBO but obviously can't afford it there. Any recommendations on locations and realtors?

High Speed Internet
Many on our block are having a terrible time with TimeWarner Road Runner. Though TV reception is constant, high speed internet is going out chronically. Anyone in Brownstone Brooklyn have good experience with a provide other than TW?

Cadman Plaza North?
Hi, we're newish to Brownstoner, been lurking for a while to get a feel for Brooklyn. We put our names on the list for Cadman Plaza North years ago and forgot about it...now our #s up. What is that area like? Does anyone know anything about this development? Is there a way to find out more about it? Hubs and I put our names down when we were still new to the city but never lived in Brooklyn. Thanks.

Just Moved to Bay Ridge
Okay so I just moved down to Bay Ridge 2 weeks ago. Mid 70's + 3rd Ave vicinity. Looking to hear from any of my new neighbors about which is the best deli, dry cleaner, tailor, take out, hardware store, etc etc in the area. Also, which restaurants are a must? There is so much stuff down here, I would love to weed out the crap. Thanks!

Property with Violations
I'm looking at a property in Bed Stuy that, after some research on BIS, appears to have had a Stop Work Order in 2008, and has multiple open Violations with the DOB and the ECB (what's the ECB?).
If the price is right, do I proceed? Or is this just a field of landmines? Is it a negotiation tool? Or is it just asking for trouble?
Most violations appear to be the result of neighbors calling the property in. Seems not to be a popular house on the block.
Thoughts, advice?
