Info on new south slope/greenwood restaurant
There are at least three new places attempting to open on the, ahem, better side of the prospect expressway:
1. Eurotrip- some sort of eurobistro
2. Public House- by the kitchen bar people
3. Ellis- southwestern american tapas?!?
Any info on when these will open? Anyone know of any more restaurants coming? Any have any strong opinions on these (bet ya do!)
Looking forward to my new dining options in my new neighborhood up in the number streets.

parking space needed for weekend in sunset park

i am looking for a secure parking space for a compact sedan just for weekend in sunset park, preferably within 10 blocks from 55th street and 5 blocks from 5th avenue.

Smoke coming from the John Jay School in Park Slope
I was in Prospect Park this weekend choking on fumes and smoke spewing out of the chimney of the John Jay School of Justice on 7th Ave in Park Slope. I was running and had to stop because the smell was so noxious. At first I thought it was a fire and started walking toward the smoke. But as I got closer I saw that it was coming out of the smoke stack from the school. I asked someone on the street about it and they said it happens all the time. Anyone know what all the smoke is about?

Anyone know what happened to Laila Restaurant
Does anyone know what happened to Laila restaurant on 7th avenue and 15th street? I noticed it's been shut for about 3 weeks and I just passed by it today and the door was open and workmen were inside doing demolotion..
wonder what's going in there???

Small co-op duties?
Hi everyone, we're considering a co-op in a 4 unit townhouse. We realize there would be more responsibilities involved in living in a small cooperative, the question is how much more? Are there monthly meetings? Trash duties? Shoveling snow? Your input would be much appreciated.

Funny Apartment Smells
We recently moved into a pre-war building in Prospect Park South. There is a strange (and bad) smell coming from the closets and from some cracks in the floor. It is reminiscent of cooking, but quite rancid. We have done some sealing with silicone and plumbers calk, but the smell is still getting in to our apartment. Does anyone know what this is? Has anyone had experience getting rid of yucky rancid smells in an old apartment in an old building?

! New Parking regulations in Sth Slope !
I was walking down 7th ave yesterday and noticed (thanks to Big Nose, Full Body wine store) that at least from 9th St south, they have changed the parking restrictions.
Its now 1 hr parking and street cleaning EVERY day

Sports Fans
I just watched sports fans trying to view the Giants parade ruin, completely ruin 8 cars (the only ones parked within my range of view). First about 6 people stomped in the roof and windshield of a cab, broke into the vehicle, and pocketed all the paperwork. Then they went back up on the roof and jumped up and down a bunch more. The roofs of the other 7 cars were similarly caved. A City van had its windshield smashed with someone's heels and then 12 people tried to turn it over. Another car has it's tires slit. People removed rear view mirrors from several of the vehicles. The police, who were about 30 feet away and in great numbers didn't do anything at all for a full 25 minutes. Not sure if the pic will come out.
I hate sports fans. I say leave them in New Jersey..

Brookyn storage recommendations?
Cohabitation is in my near future and combined there is going to be too much stuff in the apt. Anyone have recommended mini-storage in Brooklyn? I'm in Carroll Gardens and would prefer something on my side of Bklyn, gowanus/sunset park/bay ridge.
Cost is the main issue, but convenience/hours/cleanliness/space, too.
any help appreciated!
