Sewer Line

We need to replace the sewer line from our house to the main sewer line in the street. Only company I know of that does this type of work is All Boro, hoping there might be some other recommendations out there and any guidance on what this type of work costs. From what we've been told about $10,000+. Thanks in advance.

Vinegar / baking soda vs. Drano?

Have been using Drano recently on a clogged tub, with less-than-great effect. Have read about using vinegar and baking soda, but is there a minimum amount of time I should let pass since I last used Drano, before using the au naturel method?

The Hot /Cold Shower

I've been in this Condo 5 years. Enitre complex is runoff of a gas heater and then sent off allover the place and kept hot by many exchengers. All these years, I put up with the hot /cold shower effect like flushing a toilet. I have separate handles, one for hot , one for cold, one for the shower/tub. If I go into the wall where the access is to the plumbing, would closing off the hot valve just a bit help this problem?

Toilet leak?

Recently out toilet has been losing water in the tank. I can hear it trickling in the middle pipe (plumbers- forgive me I don't know the names). This is the pipe that rises up when you flush. It's not leaking where the pipe connects to the base of the tank but, somehow traveling through the plastic pipe?

Anyway, that may be irritating but it's not making any mess. The problem is as the water lever recedes the tank adjusts by refilling itself. When this happens (about every four minutes) the water in the shower shoots up to scalding. Now, everytime I take a shower I'm straining to hear the toilet's rushing water sound so I can get the hell out of the way. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Referral on replacing or repairing a shower stall

I have a leaking shower stall in a space occupied by a renter on the 3rd floor of Victorian Flatbush house. We have the ceiling below opened up so we can see the drain where it leaks and catch the water. We’ve had a plumber (John Hlad) look at it and attempt a quick repair by sealing the drain from above, but when it didn't help he wasn’t interested in job if it required removing the shower stall and an unknown amount of work repairing walls, floor tiles, etc. I would like a recommendation of someone to fix the leak and replace the shower stall (and possibly close /repair the ceiling below). It doesn’t need to be a high end job, just leak-free and functional.

Minimum size for double sink vanity

We are remodelling a condo for resale. The master bath will utilize a 60" vanity and I was planning on upgrading to a double sink base. I thought we would use a one piece top with integrated bowls. I was checking out some pics of double sink vanities and many are 72". Is 60" not large enough?
