Franke faucet
We are trying to decide b/w the Franke FF-200 and the newer FFPS200. We have used the FF-200 and loved it but wondering about the newer version... anyone out there have it?
Treamand for ikea install
to all who've had Traemand install your cabs:
-how's their price?
-did they do any particular cabinet 'modifications' for you?
-how long did it take from measure etc to install.
-did you already have the plan and they measured/ordered?
-did they hook up your appliances (ikea or not)
-how are they holding up?
thanks for any info!

Bathroom Recaulk & Mold
Hi all --
We've got a bit of mold in the caulking of our shower tiles and planned to replace it this weekend. But we just noticed that the baseboard adjacent to the tub is a little worse for wear -- some slight mold around the bottom, and some softening from moisture. We want to be sure to deal with the problem adequately. Can anybody suggest a good, honest bathroom contractor or mold guy we can bring in for a consult? Or any other advice? Many thanks!
Blackboard Panel for Fridge
I am about to buy a new fridge for our apartment - GE ZIC 360 NXRH - and I am interested in putting panels of chalkboard or blacboard instead of just millwork panels.
If any knows of anyplace or anyone who can make these panels or supplies to our millworker, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Richard

Refinishing Claw Foot Tub
Hi all,
I just moved into an apt. with a beautiful claw foot tub that needs to be refinished. Is there any possible way to do this yourself? I really don't want to have to get it professionally serviced (as that will be really expensive). Any hints or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kitchen Reno: Some D.I.Y.
some d.i.y some contractor:
hi all- we are planning a kitchen/bathroom reno in our townhouse. involves replacing everything in the kitchen/bathroom: ceiling, floors, some wall rejigging, electrical, cabinets (ikea), not moving but replacing some plumbing, etc.
obviously this is going to get crazy expensive. Is there anything anyone could say about doing some of it ourselves and contracting some parts out? We're both handy but can't spent an eternity without a kitchen while we work on it weekends. What would you suggest are the 'doable' projects? Does this drive contractors nuts? thanks for any advice (or recommendations!)

Kitchen Backsplash
I'm being tortured by a lack of direction with my kitchen backsplash. Can't sleep at night. Get cold sweats just thinking about it.
Long story short, I haven't found anything interesting/inspiring/fun that I really like. We're doing white Ikea cabinets (I know, not thrilling, but budget-friendly) with a dark grey or black silestone countertop. Does anyone have any great, interesting backsplash ideas?
We're going with the white cabs/dark silestone for resale value, but I'd like to get a little interest in somewhere.
Cost to Fabricate Granite
We are thinking about purchasing a slab of granite at an incredible price. We would have to find a fabricator to do the template and cut it - we have someone that could install it. Can anyone recommend someone and does anyone have any idea what the cost would be for such a service? Trying to figure out if its even worth going this route.
Thanks, guys.
Clawfoot Tub Worth Saving?
I got an old clawfoot tub, debating on whether I should keep it. I hope someone can answer my questions. It needs to be reglazed or refinished (is there a difference?), how much does this cost? Also, I need to get a new shower curtain rod. Are multiple curtains required? I would want to keep it if I could afford it, but are there any hidden upkeep costs I should know about?

Shower Body
Hi,
I am renovating my bathroom and have to order a shower body and sink for the bathroom. Where should I look? What's the average for affordable items not top-of-the-line? What exactly does the shower body consist of? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

En Suite bathroom
Are en suite bathrooms a good thing or a bad thing?
They seem kind of silly to me. But they seem to be touted by some.
The irascible Rob the Butterfly ("Don't poop where you sleep!") and the gallant DaveinBedStuy ("Oh, the luxury of pooping where you sleep!") -- two enjoyable favorites on this site -- are forever battling this point, sometimes playfully, sometimes distractingly.
But what do others think?
Perhaps all of us together can settle this point once and for all.

Width for Counter Top
We are trying to decide on counter tops for a new kitchen. We are looking at couple different types of granite and were told the standard witdth is 1.25 inch. It seems awfully thick to me. We heard the old standard was 0.75 which seems just fine. (It is a small kitchen and I am worried the new standard thickness will look very heavy). Any suggestion with places to go that will adjust thickness and do fabrication/ install etc.? Or any insight on just keeping my trap shut and sticking w the standard?
Thanks!

Home & Stone?
Has anyone purchased items from Home & Stone on Coney Island Avenue (homeandstone.com)? I'm considering buying bathroom hardware from them and am looking for customer feedback. Thanks.
