in need of old sink!
We are renovating our pre-war apt. and need a 1930's sink like the one pictured. Specifically it must be on 2 metal legs (a pedestal will not work b/c of the drain location). Anyone out there have any ideas about where to find one (and quickly? We are willing to get it sprayed.

Cost of Bathroom in Basement
I have unfinished basement. it is more than 50% above the ground and more than 7' hight. I want to put bathroom (shower/sink/toilet) in bathroom and want to estimate cost. It would be something really basic and I can do most of the job myself. Of course I will need to hire plumber/electrician if necessary and do all the related legal stuff. Is there any unexpected complications in this process? i.e. will inspectors come in and give me ticket for unrelated stuff? Anything else I should think about before starting with this project? How much do you think it will cost?

Faucet Spray Head Replacement
I'd like to replace this faucet spray head, which I believe is for a Hamat Dominique 8-1222 faucet. Where can I go?

Bathroom Reglaze
I did a bathroom renovation about 9 years ago. Rebuilt shower, new sink/vanity, new toilet, new floor and built-in cabinet where medicine cabinet/hamper was. Reglazed pink and black tiles and tub for cost issues. I have never used the tub. Lately I've noticed that the glaze where the tub and tiles meet has started to lift up. Of course the warranty was up long ago. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? Will I have to re-do the entire job? Can it even be done a second time? Thank you.

Bathroom Update
I've recently purchased a co-op and want to do some work in the bathroom -- change tub, re-tile and install a new vanity and sink (the commode doesn't need to be changed). The bathroom isn't large -- maybe 6' x 8'.
Can anyone recommend a good contractor who can do this work?

Wood Countertop
I rent an apartment with a lovely looking but delicate wood countertop in the kitchen. The wood's stained dark and covered with what I assume is polyurethane gloss. In most places, the gloss is thick, but in the spot where we cook the most, it's started to wear through and loose bits of the stain (plain wood exposed).
Would it be possible to touch up the polyurethane without redoing the whole thing? I assume I could just buy some polyurethane furniture varnish and apply it to the area (after cleaning/sanding it). But would that work?
Of course, I won't do this without mentioning it to our landlord! Maybe he'll do it himself.

Butcher Block Treatment
Due to budget limitations we're doing oak butcher block counters in our kitchen. Is there anything we can do to make the finish look richer-- a certain type of oiling, treatment, etc. that we can do ourselves?

Wallpaper backsplash in kitchen
Has anyone done a wallpaper backsplash (covered in glass) in the kitchen? How much did the glass cost, and did your g.c. do it or did you hire a glass person? Pros/cons?
