Front doors and type of wood i should buy
I am buying a pair of new front doors. The woodworker has offered me 3 types of wood. Sugar pine I really don't like this one because i feel with nyc winters it will warp over time. Mahogony but these are to expensive for me. The last type is spanish cedar wood. Has anyone used this for front doors? any opinions on this wood?

Anybody selling an exterior door?
We need to replace the hideous entryway door of our building and have seen nothing decent at Home Depot/Lowes, etc. We would like something which looks somewhat appropriate to the period in which our building was constructed (1930). Ideally, we'd like a wood door or a set of two doors which contain some type of a glass panel. Since we are redoing/rebricking the entire front of the building, the door/doors can be pretty much any dimension. Also, the condition is not important as long as there are no chunks missing out of the door or any major cracks or rotting in the wood. Entry door sets
Our double entry doors have beautiful antique pulls, but no latch. That is, the only thing holding them shut is the deadbolt. We're planning to change the pulls for some kind of reproduction set, but are having trouble finding anything nice for double doors. There would have to be a deadbolt and latch on one side, and matching dummy handles on the other. The problem isn't the bolt/latch side, of course, it's the matching handle on the other side. Apparently, most people in this world don't have double entry doors!
Anyone have a lead on great door hardware?
brass door hinges
I am looking for brass hinges for my brownstone front doors that are offset top and bottom 5" x 2 1/4". If they make ball bearing or self lubricating that would be great. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Door Replacement for Modern Building
We need to replace the double front doors on our small multi-unit building because of security issues. The building has a modern brick-and-glass look to its front, and we're looking to replace the current version (think cheap patio doors) with something more heavy duty. We'd like to use thick security glass or a wood and glass combination that could work with a magnetic security closure that can interface with our existing buzzer system.
Can anyone help with leads on vendors or contractors that could get us started? Thanks!

Where can I find these?
I'm looking for a rosette just like this one as I'm missing one on my front door hardware. Have looked online to no avail...any suggestions?

Pocket door hardware - Von Morris?
I am looking for pocket door hardware for single pocket doors as well as double pocket doors (bathrooms & closets as well as on parlor floor). Have come across Von Morris:

Doors for Rental Apartments
I am looking for recommendations for places to purchase doors to be hung in the entrances of 2 rental apartments. I believe according to the building code the doors need to be 90 minute fire resistant (it is a 3 family house). I do not want to put steel doors but would prefer something more attractive that is wood or looks like wood (MDF). Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can purchase these and for how much? The door entrances are 33.75" wide by 87.5" high. Thanks!

free brownstone doors
