Wireless Computer
I am wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to how a wireless computer, router and printer operates?
I now have a computer operating through Time Warner Cable and was recently informed that I would need a dedicated line to operate my computer when I move it to the front of the house. I would have to have a cable wire go up the back of my house, along my roof and down the front of my house. I really don't want to do that and was thinking of a going wireless, yet don't know anything about it.

Coverting a Half Bath to a Full
I live in a Walentas building in DUMBO and am looking to hire someone to covert our half bath to a full. Most other condos on our line have already done this conversion as the infrastructure is in place to make this relatively easy. Any recommendations? Many thanks.

Another conversion question....
I haven’t been able to find the answer to these questions in the archives here or in often referred to NYT article. I currently rent an apartment in a 4-floor building—-top three floors are 3 rental apartments and the landlord has a business in the bottom floor. She is interested in selling the building and I’m trying to think through the issues involved with going to condos instead of her selling the building outright. Under some scenarios, it could be a win-win situation. My questions are as follows: 1) I know fees for RE lawyers and architects are non-trivial, but in this case who absorbs these costs? The seller I assume--which would presumable be passed through in the sale price. 2) Anyone care to wager on the actual costs here? I haven’t been able to get any estimates. 3) What are the options for dealing with the ground floor space that is currently used as a business? Do we sell that unit as well? Do the other 3 owners collectively own it? (Huge headache, I know). 4) Other issues I’m completely ignoring? Thanks.
Refinance/Conversion Question
I want to refinance my one-family, pull out cash to convert it into a three-family but I have no idea how much something like this would cost,
Let me first describe the house: it has three levels including the basement, the basement is finished with a full bath and kitchen, one bedroom, with a front and back exit, ceiling height is a little over 7 feet,
I would like to legalize this unit, 1st floor living/dining rooms, full kitchen, half bath with space to add a shower, would like to convert this floor into a one bedroom obviously removing the dining room,
and 2nd floor has 3 1/2 bedrooms with a full bath, one room I would like to add a kitchen and legalize this unit as well,
So far I know I will need a fire escape but I need to know so that I know approx. how much I will need in cash, has anyone ever done this before and can you offer some advice, thanks.

East New York Question
EAST NEW YORK — Not far from Starrett City, the middle-class housing development that has been much in the news of late, there is a former Mitchell-Lama complex once known as Fairfield Towers that is offering condos to middle-income families.
Now called MeadowWood at Gateway, this 21-acre, 19-building complex along Flatlands Avenue in East New York is undergoing some major renovations and 983 apartments will soon be ready for occupancy. It is said to be the largest condominium conversion in Brooklyn.
Fillmore Real Estate is handling sales of the units, which have prices ranging from $100,000 to $340,000.
Does anyone know about this new project in E. NY?
