AC + sleeves needed
Has anyone investigated AC sleeves? I need to install a small one (with an AC) for a bedroom. All I can find are the huge ones.
The casement windows can't handle units, and central air is not an option.
Any local vendors or product recommendations would be appreciated.

Thru the Wall AC Installation
We're attempting to install a thru-the-wall AC unit in our bedroom and need to find a contractor to do this minor job. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Ductless AC - Outside Wall?
Hi, I am researching ductless and mini-duct AC systems. One thing that I can't seem to get a straight answer on is whether the indoor unit needs to be mounted on an outside-facing wall. In an attached brownstone, this could make things difficult.
Does anyone know whether this is true? Is there some part of the inside unit that needs to be vented outside? Thanks!

Is it possible to place my A/C compressor in the basement of the brownstone instead of in the back yard?

AC Units
Hi
Not exactly a brownstone topic per se, but nevertheless, perhaps there is somebody out there who knows this: what is the current NYC law concerning installation of window AC units in coop buildings? My board is trying to comply, but nobody knows exactly what the law says. what does "professional" installation mean? I have called 311, they could not help, the DOB is impossible to reach, and on the nyc.gov site I found no real answer....anyone?
Portable A/C Recommendations?
I am moving to a unit that requires portable A/C since there's only one window in one of the rooms, and it's on the fire escape. I know they're not the best, but if anyone can recommend a unit they're happy with, or a vendor, I'd appreciate it!
