Neighbor's Noisy Air Conditioner
Anybody have an idea of how to deal with a neighbor whose air conditioner is going to drive us crazy? His window air conditioner shakes our house and he is across the back alley. It's noisy and he doesn't care. Is this a 311 complaint? Thoughts?

Whether to install a Whole House Fan?
I'm in a detached 2-1/2 story house, and wondering if I should consider a whole house fan. I figure it could quickly cool the place on summer nights (at least when it gets cool outside), thus saving on AC. Anyone wish to encourage or discourage the idea? Any advice on buying or getting it installed? Thanks!

Ductless A/C installer recommendations
We are looking for a recommendation for a contractor to install some split system A/C units in our brownstone. We have a general contractor overseeing the rest of the work (bathrooms, etc.), but he can't seem to track down a good A/C person who is available to begin immediately. Do any stoners have recommendations for us?

A/C return vent
Does anyone know who manufactures grilles to cover the return duct in non-standard sizes besides ArchGrille? I am looking to compare prices. I am looking for about a 19"x12" piece to go on a floor in a corner.
