Tile Store?
Can anyone recommend a tile store that actually has a large selection of interesting mosaic and ceramic tile in stock? Just found out a I have to do a bathroom reno and can't wait the six weeks or so to custom order something but would like more selection than available at HD and Lowes. Many thanks!

I like Classic Tile, which I believe is in Besonhurst. They have lots of different styles. The sales guys are a cast of characters though.

We got our bathroom and kitchen tile at Mondial Tile at 14 Ave/65th St. I thought they had a great selection.

The last bathroom I renovated, I used tile from Galactic Tile in Sunset Park. They have just about everything you can imagine.
Their showroom is at 951 3rd Ave

Oh... I should add that budget is limited so ann sacks is way out of our range (although it is gorgeous stuff)....

Second Nemo Tile -- ask for Monica, she's terrific and very helpful for those on a tight budget. Mondial Tile also has a good selection.

Most of Classic's stuff is in stock, if they don;t have it, it comes in the week after you order. They have an ad on Brownstoner- check to the right.

3rd Nemo Tile. Also DalTile has a showroom nearby and their "wholesale/contractors only" location near Home Depot had a lot in stock and helped me.
Cannot 2nd A&K - got no help at all there.

I second Classic Tile on 86th. I have recently had to match tile for small restoration jobs and both times they had what I needed. It seems they have two or three buildings on the block, so plenty of warehouse space filled with tile.

You can buy modern tiles without the heavy price at Italian Tile. Great Selection.
