Perfectionist Painter

I am looking for a painter who is not just competent but who is also a perfectionist. The work is to finish up the painting on a parlor floor and requires someone who can handle patching old work work as well as oil based paints (not just latex). There are parts of my brownstone where I care just about competence but the parlor floor is a beautiful floor and needs the proper attitude and skills.

My preference is for someone who does the work herself, rather than someone who has a crew working for them.

I of course meant "wood work" not "work work."

Shouldn't it be "working for her?" and have you ever met a woman housepainter?

Yes, it should be "her" but I have met (and used) a number of female painters over the years.

I've used Gordon Voisey for a variety of painting jobs in my brownstone that required really fine skills, color sense, etc. He's an artist who does painting mainly in brownstone to supplement his income. You can reach him at 917- 576-6747 or email at gvoisey@nyc.rr.com. He's been praised by others in this forum. If you plug in his last name in the search field you'll find other recommendations for him.

I know more women painters than men painters, but none here that I would recommend.

Consider Dow and Company 917 414 1393 . He and his small crew do very good work. Many times Dow is on the job working but also steps away to do bids and keep the crew supplied. They are professional, courteous, tidy and really very nice to deal with. They can be as much of a perfectionist as you require or your budget allows. I don't think you will be disappointed.

A second for Gordon Voisey.

He's exactly what you want.
