Exterior metal paint
What kind of paint should I use for the metal stairs going from parlor floor to the back yard ? They get used by children and dogs, so the paint has to be super durable . Thanks

Exterior Alklyd would work on metal-
You can mix a tiny bit of sand into the last coat for the top of the stairs to create a better grip.

I prefer RUSTOLEUM satin black

Take the opportunity to NOT use black! A nice bright color in any exterior paint would work.

I recommend Rustoleum. Make sure you scrape off any loose paint and prime it before painting.
