Confirming New Building Rumors

I was speaking to some neighbors who insist they have been hearing the new project at 574 Fourth Avenue, featured several times on Brownstoner per link below, is actaully slated to become housing for recovering drug addicts with a drug clinic on the first floor.

It seems like a ridiculous rumor given the community board and others would likely make news of this, but I was wondering if there is any public records or sources that could be used to confirm on deny the rumors?

Thanks!

Sorry, the above link should work.

Does sound ridiculous, however 1st floor zoned for 'community service' so that theoretically could be true. Even so, hard to imagine that they would go that route until all the apts were sold.

There is a big treatment center around the corner from there.

Where would you like the rehab center to go, NIMBY?

Denton - You live nearby there no? What would they have to do to actually make that happen? Wouldnt the city need to approve something like that with notice to the community?

Grand Army - Nice Troll, I would like the rehab center to go in your back yard.

NSR, I don't know, I've never been deeply involved in the politics of a nabe. But perhaps call CB7?

I think that's in CB7

Here's an email

Thanks, NSS. But actually I already have a rehab center, a homeless shelter, a halfway home, and a Boys Town in my backyard and -- guess what -- they are all perfectly OK neighbors.
