Worst Customer service ever
Custom Metal Products is one of the worst ran businesses that I have ever witnessed. I just renovated a brownstone and used Custom Metal (http://www.ironworkny.com/) to redo the metal on my windows and gate. It took forever to get an estimate. That should have been my warning. They were sloppy, irresponsible, and had to come back on more than one occasion until it was complete. They tracked dirt and mud through my home and scratched the walls upon their exit. I would never recommend them for a job. The finished product is fine but the run around and headache is not worth it.

Hear hear! I've tried to work with them a couple of times because they are in my neighborhood (support local etc.) and each time I've had such horrible phone experiences that I've had to hang up and shake it off. YUCK! I so wish they'd get their act together as I would love to support a local metal shop!

I've had great luck with Chinese iron guys. The price is right and they'll even take off their shoes if you ask them too.

Unfortunately have to agree w/almost everything OP said. It took me a while to get an estimate...then the guy was supposed to pick up the check and forgot (no apology), not to mention he was a bit moody. Then when they did come the work was relatively sloppy.
I guess that's what I get for trying to support the local guy who has cheaper prices.
