Price of Tiles High?
is $18 a sf high for carrera mosaic marble tiles? also $9 for marble subway tile
and 6 for procelin tiles it seemed absurdly high

No, those sound exactly right. I just spec'd this exact thing, a 2x2 hexagonal carrara mosaic was $18/sf, carrara subway tile was $11/sf and a penny tile was $7/sf. In no way absurdly high, but could possibly be found for slightly cheaper with a fair amount of running around and research. Time is money.....

I used those types of tiles and that price is about what they cost. If you run around you may find one type a bit cheaper at one place, but then the other might be more expensive. So, unless you want to buy from two different places, and pay two different shipping costs, that price is about right.

Archigoddess: I've been looking for 2" hex carrera mosaics and haven't seen them at $18 s/f. Where did you buy them? Thanks....
