Recommendation - Phils Air

Recommendation - Phils Air

We recently had two mini-split aircontioners installed by Phils Air Conditioning and Heating. They did an amazing job and were extremely helpful with some tricky issues we had - even coming back two months later to change a pipe layout which didn't work with our new deck build.
Phil was very reasonably priced and his team was really a pleasure to work with.
The system they installed also did a wonderful job through August with far superior cooling with similar impact on our monthly electricity bill than previous window units.

Could you describe how the units were situated on the two floors so that they cool the entire floors? Also, how much was it?? Compressors on roof or in yard??

Also, not sure what we're supposed to be looking at in the pic. I'm going to get quotes for A/C. Did you ever get quotes for a ducted system that runs on the roof and then downward??? My issue is that i actually have a gas forced air heating system that feeds the first floor apartment and my two floors but I don't want the A/C going to the first floor unit. By the time it gets to my top floor bedroom it''ll be largely ineffective.

I have't investigated yet whether I could run the smaller round high velocity tubing through the ductwork up to my unit alone.

Any contractors out there who can opine???

I'm not sure what the pic has to do with the post, but damn your floors are gorgeous!

Looks like new 3' x 3/4" oak to me with a beautiful marquetry inlay.

Beautiful floors. Lovely brick! Where's the a/c?

For the first time ever, I'd comment negatively on the fact that you have a major fall hazard with that stair detail...why not a railing/stub wall section?

Hi orrsuz,
this is a photo from my house! i posted it long ago when we finished our renovation...
why did you post it here?
probably a mistake.

To those interested in the floors unfortunately I have no idea where this photo came from - its not even my house (or my photo)...

On the a/c the compressors are in the yard (and unbelievably quiet) with indoor units on parlor and the floor above. It was the only system we considered as its suits the open-plan layout we have. Given the performance I would definitely consider having a further unit on the top floor one day.

this is a photo from another post.
it doesn't belong to the a/c post.
it was taken in the middle of our renovation a year ago.
we have the railing now :)
